Wrecking is still good at the moment with great hard fighting Pollock that are really in great shape for the time of year, already the first few cod have been caught so they will not be long to show in numbers, Ling are still again taking lures as well as baits to give the anglers a good scrap, jumbo whiting are still being caught with 3lb+ fish being landed in numbers on all trips.
Skerries banks now are showing good numbers of plaice with Spot On's last trip pulling out 45 fish with 30 being returned.
Remember Spot On is Brixham's only catamaran and is the ultimate charter boat in the south west.

Spot On has again been hitting the skerries banks for plaice with numbers hitting 30 fish for half a day and the other half spent at anchor for huss, doggies and whiting, fish looking in great condition with the biggest fish hitting 2lb.
Wrecking is really now kicking off as a great day saw loads of Ling, with a few over the 20+ mark and one topping the scales at 30lb 4oz, Pollock up to 16lb along with the first few Cod of the year so they will be here any day soon, jumbo Whiting up to 4lb made up the rest of the days fine catches
Many bigger fish just proving too strong and despite the anglers holding on for as long as possible just could not stop the strong fish.
Picture shows Plymouth Angler Bob with his arm wreniching 30lb 4oz Ling.

The 5th of April saw Spot On going to the skerries bank with 6 guys from Bideford angling club to target Plaice.
Conditions were against us to say the least but we managed to track down a small concentrate of fish and short drifts over this mark was rewarded with a few fish every drift.
As slack water appoached we headed off for some shelter and to put the anchor in to target some bull huss and have some lunch, however from the off we were hit by small huss up to 5lb snatching our baits approx 30+ bull huss boated.
Back on the drift one more time for a couple more plaice before the quick steam home to Brixham.
Speicies boated were Bull huss, Plaice, Whiting, Pollock, Dogfish and a lovely brown crab that went home with the happy angler for his lunch tomorrow. Pictured is the first double header of plaice for this season.

A great start to April for Spot On, as we ventured out wrecking in search of big Pollock.
Lots of prime sized fish and as always with Pollock it was great fun and good scraps on light tackle.
Many double figured fish coming to the net with the biggest weighing just over 17lb, average size was 6/8lb.
A few nice whiting and a belly bursting 24lb Ling made up a great day and the 4 anglers onboard went home exhausted after a very fun and sporting day.
Things are definately looking up for wrecking at the moment and long may it continue.
Pictured is Phil with his lovely 24lb Ling caught on a Bazinda lure.

You will all be pleased to know that wrecking is starting to pick up and even with the easterly winds Spot On headed out to the mid channel wrecks, loads of signs of fish on the sounder and the fishing was good with a few fish coming every drift, first fish on board was the absolute cracker of a whiting and a fish of a lifetime that fell to Steve Ford of Brixham Sea Anglers of a fish of 6lb 10oz, and taking the new club record and on the clubs official scales some 10 hours later after being caught it went 6lb 3oz.
Lots of nice Pollock also coming to the net with the biggest around the 10lb mark but as the tide turned the drift was hampered by the stronger growing wind which made life a tad difficult to get the right direction but fish still kept coming but it did slow down.
Spot On is Full time and has loads of great tides still available so if you want to fish for the fish of a lifetime then I will see you on board.
Skerries bank is starting to produce Plaice and an adventure across last week (30 min steady steam) we had quite a few fish and then we went on the Huss and Doggies which were also good fun. -

Spot On was pleased to welcome some young lads from the South Devon fishing forum on board and after working hard all weekend wrecking finding cod, bass, Pollock etc we set out in search of some ling.
We were not disappointed although the first 2 fish to come up on mackerel flappers were a nice 10lb cod and 6lb Pollock, however a few wrecks later we hit into the ling with 5-6 fish coming on board very quickly every drift and things became a bit hectic, biggest ling fell to Ross woolridge of a nice specimen ling of 21lb.
The guys were sporting with most using 15lb class tackle and 25b mainline with a few larger specimens getting away but all in all a good day spent with a good bunch of guys, the day was complete with some friendly dolphins joining us for a few miles to play with our wake on the way in, some great videos of this on facebbok, just search spotoncharters brixham.
New boat is also progressing well so cant wait, 2014 tides and diary open and bookings are coming in so good to see, get in early to get your first choices.
Thank you guys for choosing Brixham as your home of wrecking port and don't forget those nice turbot and big plaice of over 7lb being caught from our local skerries bank from a private boat recently.
Pictured is a group shot of the guys holding a few of there fish, all fish gutted freshly and prepared to keep them as fresh as they can for you to enjoy.
