Report on-board Dawn Venture
had the American band "The Reverend Patons Big Damned Band" (playing Glastonbury this Saturday!) out for 3 hrs and we caught 100 dogfish,of those,60 were bullhuss and of those 20 were over 5lb and 3 of those were over 7lb.....all caught on feathers baited with squid/mackerel,some coming up 3 at a time!
best was caught by Shelbie at 7.5lb

weekend summary 20-22 june
struggled with strong nor'westerly wind that hampered the fishing......again,lots of small codling and haddock,coalies mixed in and lots of Pollack in the 1.5-2lb range.also lots of doggies and small huss,biggest huss landed was 6lb with another lost at boats'side about 12lb.
mackerel stil sporadic,seeing only 6 on each of the 3 days...the fish that are getting caught are stuffed with sandeel yet the mackerel remain elusive! View Boats Page

Corinthians sea anglers out today...mackerel and herring very sparse,pollack (7lb best) out of the weeds along with ballan wrasse,cuckoo wrasse,huss,spurdog,whiting,coalies,codling,haddock and pouting

full boat and plenty of fish....150 mackerel,30 herring,coalies,doggies,huss,pollack,whiting ,codling(3lb biggest) ,haddock,12 spurdog(5lb biggest) all caught at port logan on the wreck and reef

5 guys out for a 5hr trip.....a smattering of mackerel,loads of tiny whiting,huss,doggies a couple of herring and some Pollack from the weeds(best 4.5lb) and a red gurnard

many anglers are ringing and asking if "the mackerel are in"??
and unfortunately ,at the moment they are sporadic and spread thinly,we are averaging about 10 a trip providing we have water clarity,any hint of gloom and everything "switches off"
when good numbers on all trips are showing I will put up a report,there are plenty of fish around to make up for the lack of mackerel,...Pollack upto 8lb have been caught in the weeds

more variety today...coalies,cod(3.5lb),haddock,whiting,huss,doggies,herring,red gurnard,a few mackerel and Pollack under the cliffs to 8lb...plenty of variety,plenty of fish

mixed crew out today with a catch of coalies,cod to 3.5lb,haddock to 2.5lb,gurnard,whiting and some mackerel,,huss and dogfish ,pollack showing in the weeds and the best was 6lb

2 short fishing trips today,huss,doggies,herring,gurnard,pollack and coalies whilst fishing at anchor with baited feathers.....best of the bunch were these 2 codling at 3.5lb each.
mackerel are now turning up on every trip but not in great numbers and water clarity is vital View Boats Page
