Had a greast weekends fishing which started in Anglesy on Fri night with a few beers.Fished plastics on the island but nothing for us.Early departure from Amlych,to meet Steve aboard the Supreme for a 5 hour smoothie/bass trip.We weren,t disapointed ,as we were straight into fish smoothie and a whiting, but Steve decided to make a move to a mark about 5 miles away and straight in was Jonty with a cracking gurnard, then it was Woodsy,s turn with a smoothie over the 12lb mark, and from then on it was consistent with small bass and smoothies until jason connected with a pb smoothie for him at 15lb 3oz.All in all a great day but too short and we will be back pronto....well done Mr. Andrews.

Well summer finally arrived today out on a Help For Heroes charity trip which was designated as a smooth hound and bass trip the first one of the year for us .
View Boats Page
Everything went to plan, almost we had a forty minute delay thanks too a snapped throttle cable luckily I had a spare one at home so a very fast change and a bit of sweat later we were on our way.
First mark only produced a small whiting and 1 small smoothie so I made the decision to move to a mark about 5 mile away and we were not disappointed when we got there. First fish on the boat 12lb 3oz Starry smoothound for Mark Woods out of retirement for this trip , we then had a steady stream of smaller smoothies and some small bass , John had a nice 2lb Tub Gurnard in perfect condition.
Then the fish of the trip for Jason a 15lb 3oz smoothie which gave Jason a run for his money .
All to quick the trip was over and we were on our way back to Rhyl to pick up my afternoon trip .
If you fancy a crack at the Smoothies and bass give me a call and we will see what we can organise for you ,

May Delights !
View Boats Page
Although the weather has been `changeable`, we have still found some great fish lately.
The first May Bank Holiday was a great success even though we had strong North Easterly winds, Most of the Charter Fleet stayed at home for the weekend but we saw the opportunity for some great fishing and it paid off,
Alex, aged 12 1\3, from Sevenoaks caught a beautiful 9 lb Bass from Pegwell Bay, along with some Smoothounds and a nice Skate.
Our evening Bass trips over the Bank Holiday weekend were quite productive, none of the Bass caught were under 6 lb !
On the odd days when it has been calm enough to push offshore we have had great results, our Worst wrecking trip so far in May produced 60+ Quality fish, mainly cod with a few Bass in amongst, for a party of 6 Novice anglers.
No bullshit, Just results.
Hope to see you soon,
Keep it tight,
Dave. -

Fishing Report by Gethyn Owen

Report on-board My Way 2
Our last report ended with our thoughts turning to the influx of the quality smoothhound, normally associated with My Way during May the best part of June.

We didn’t have to wait too long, My Way was booked on Wednesday 09th May by Graham Hinchliffe from Chester, for some early season action and hoping to whet the appetites for more of his colleagues, eager to get afloat for their first boat fishing session ever.
With a typically poor forecast the lads enjoyed a good morning with plenty of variety coming to the baits dogs, whiting, plenty of dabs, with a few coalies, and pollack. On both marks, the fish kept biting for all the crew with some of the whiting making very good sizes for the time of year. On the mussel beds we also had a few spotted rays break the continuous bags of dogfish, whiting and codling.
To end the day, we had decided to spend the last couple hours trying for a few smoothhound. Gareth on Spindrift had landed the first of the season for Holyhead the previous Sunday, 06th May.
After an hour of inactivity, Graham was sat near the cabin enjoying a cup of tea and biscuit, on the stern his rod arched over and line started screaming from his Abu 7500 reel. Quickly on the rod, Graham lifted into the smoothie and for the next 25minutes battled against what looked to be a very good shark! When the smoothie broke surface, it certainly did look a good one, having taken nearly half an hour to land and with the fish swimming around other lines, we had quite a tangle to contend with.
The mass of line was quite fortunate to be honest, as when I reached over with the net; I slipped and dropped it in the water! Thankfully a couple lines snagged onto the neck of the net and I managed to retrieve it, albeit a little sheepishly.
Smoothhound safely in the net, and now aboard My Way, it looked big, we grabbed the weigh sling and our new calibrated scales, so far unused on anything double figures! Graham’s smoothhound topped the scales at 20lb 6oz, a beast of a fish and what a superb weight to start our 2012 adventures.
We landed another hound of 11 and dropped a couple others; hopefully this is the start to another excellent smoothhound season aboard My Way. -

Report on-board Bad Boyz VI
Well what can i say, the weather has been awfull and still is awfull only giving us a few days at sea.
View Boats Page
April saw plnety of Pollack and Coailes on the inshore reefs with the usual suspects at anchor.
The start of may has been mostly tied up in the marina with the weather only breaking for 6 days at sea to date but being rewarded with a fair amount of fish from Pollack, Coalies, Codling, Wrasse and Mackeral on the drift and plenty of Huss, Dogs, Whiting, Coalies, Pouts, Poorcod and Ocotpus at anchor.
We got out this weekend and with the weather up and down the plan was Holyhead Bay to try for Pollack, Wrasse and the possiblility of a Hound or 2 , and we were rewarded with plenty of Pollack around 3-4lb with a couple 5-6lbers, more wrasse then we could hook and ofcourse the first Smouth-hound from Holyhead Bay in 2012.
Weather has gone bad again for the next few days so fingers crossed for this following weekend.
Tight lines Aaron
