Report on-board Bad Boyz VI
Over the last 8 days we've managed to sail 7 of those days, we have had a great veriaty of trips booked in and some unusually settled weather!

We ran our first Bass and Bardsey trip of the year, although we pulled hundreds of fish out there was very little sizeable fish about, we finished the day with Bass to 6lb, pollack to 6lb, coalies, codling, big ballens wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, mackerel and weaver's.
The tope fishing continues to be good close to home with 9 to the boat being our best day and landed a number of tope on every dedicated trip. A male tope of 44lb being the best.
We had another bash on the sharks, this turned out to be a disappointing day with very little bait around, 1 hit for the day resulted in a miss. We did land Tope, Spurdogs, Huss and whitings whilst drifting and a sort spell at anchor brought a number of Huss and a lovely male tope just over 40lb.
The Wrecking side of things now..... we did 2 days this week offshore, the first day we tried the wrecks to the SW around the shallower side knowing the deep water would be tailing off. A fairly slow start with 10 pollack to 10lb but after lunch we made a fair move and got reward with around 45 fish over the following couple of hours to 14.4lb. The lads made the call that they had all the fish they needed for the table and can we anchor up, we then got plagued by 10-14lb huss most drops.
After day 1 on the wrecks not being exactly what I wanted, I digged out my catch logs for the last 6 years of wrecking and made a plan for our second day, this proved a great point as we managed over 120 fish, Pollack to 10.8lb, Coal fish to 7lb, Codling, Mackerel, pouting, grey Gurnard and a lovely Ballen wrasse that took fancy to a 6oz fast jig 30 miles offshore we had the done day and back along side after 7 1/2hr at sea, relaxed in the sun with a brew and got the remainder of the fish filleted for the lads.
Red letter day for the time of year -

Hi

Out yesterday, Pollock to 8lb, a bit picky on some wrecks but did ok in the end. It only takes one wreck to produce the goods and you've had a good day. We also had Mackerel and whiting etc.

Pat
