Pollock to 10lb and Coley to 6lb.

hi after bad weather Saturday was out sunday species caught coalfish, Pollack, bull huss, herring , codling, whitig ,dogfish, and mackerel. yes they have arrived so things looking up. lets hope for better weather to get to the right marks. cheers ROY

Good fishing yesterday with plenty of pollack and coalfish to 6lb. Fish were falling to a variety lures including a new one on me, slow jigs! A late sail allowed the ground swell to calm down after storm Hannah the day before. Places available at the moment on various trips, listed in the schedule.

Weds 10th for our first trip of 2019 from Holyhead. Despite a bitterly cold east wind we had a good mixed bag inshore and spurdogs making an appearance in Holyhead Deep.
Today we were also joined by Laura from Wobby Shark Savers with a plan to tag and release all the spurs caught to assist in various scientific studies. Fortunately the first spurdog fell to Marine Biology student Portia Harris, who was keen to take part in this tagging exercise.
The exercise involves measuring and weighing of the spurdogs in the hope of recapture and then new information on their travels and growth. Advice is given out on the correct handling of sharks if landed, with the supporting of the tail and stomach for weighing and photographs etc. View Boats Page

Many great days afloat this week, good mixed bag of fish at anchor and drifting. We also continued with our tagging exercise with Wobby Shark Savers, penty of spurdogs weighed, tagged and released and another 30 plus released without tagging so not to keep them on the deck for too long waiting.
Belle of the ball was Keith Heaton plenty of spurs to his credit and best a new personal best at whopping 20lb 13oz. View Boats Page
