    Report on-board Legend

With the water beginning to warm here in Cardigan Bay it is now that our minds turn towards balmy Tope filled days of mad catching and the rattle of black bream on the end of light rods. The Bay is coming to life and the next few months are the time to get aboard Legend of New Quay and sample some of the best rough ground fishing that the UK has to offer.

    Hi
We got out today and took advantage of the fine weather to fish some wrecks. We had around
70 Pollack and Coley with a good few around the 8lb mark.
Power baits and Rhubarb and Custards seemed most popular.
    Cheers
    Pat

    Report on-board My Way 2

We had a hard day afloat yesterday, the forecasted 12 to 18knots developed into 32 knots of southerly wind. All safe in the bay, but Fishing was sketchy with dogs huss and Whiting be mainstay our out catches.

The forecast today stuck to plan and with light winds we were rewarded with some great fishing.

The deeps produced tope, spurdogs and huss with the drifting offering some good size pollack and wrasse.

I won’t mention the one that got away, would have been the biggest cod landed on My Way ( currently 6lb no monster I know but the port isn’t renowned for large cod ). To the surface, but sadly spat the hook just as the net was being lowered, no it wasn’t my fault

Great day afloat with Declan and the misfits!

Started early doors out in Holyhead Deeps with a good number of large Spurdogs, Huss, Tope and the first Smooth-hound of the year.

Once the tide turned we headed inshore to drift a veriaty of reefs for some dinner!
Baited rigs and small feathers accounted for 200+ Pollack 1-3lb, few dozen Wrasse, Coalies and Codling.

The lads are heading home with a good tub of Pollack Fillets

    Bring on tomorrow

Good day afloat despite the 20knts NE forecast.....

We headed for North Deeps this morning, albeit bouncy but we found maybe 20 lively Spurdogs to 15lb, Tope 25lb and Huss to 10lb.
Once the tide turned he headed for shelterd waters around the stacks to hopefully pull a few fish out on the drift. We did find a good amount of Pollack to 2lb and Codling to 5lb with a few Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo Wrasse and Herring thrown in.

All in all a good day, 10 Species to the boat, some nice fish and a great laugh with the small boat guys.

Brings a good weekend of settled ISH weather to an end, 18 species tallied and a few great pictures. As usual the forecast had gone to pot for the next few days.
