Started fishing again for the new season as the weather has improved and the fishing has been excellent.
We were out with a group of individuals and had codling, pollock, coley, whiting, huss to 14lb, dogs small gurnard, dabs and over a hundred and twenty mackerel. Lovely flat calm day with the sun shining. Loads of sausage butties and tea. As wallace would say, "a grand day out Gromet lad!" -

Hi out for 3 days mackerel caught every day so it seems they are very early. Also loads of coal fish have appeared off point lynas loads caught many keepers ( cook them fresh better if not frozen) . We had to pull away from them as too many caught. Very good whiting Huss and odd haddock offshore. Summer fishing seems to have come early this year considering the struggle for mackerel the last two years being very late . Please book early for comming season to book a trip our prices are very reasonable cheers Roy

A great weekend was just had aboard My Way from Holyhead, kicking off April in superb fashion. We had a good variety inshore with dogs, whiting, codling and huss the mains at anchor, with a good number of pollack to 2lb on the drift on the Saturday.
Late afternoon on both days saw us catching plenty of Spurdog at the edge of Holyhead Deep. Numerous small sharks landed averaging 10lb in size, with a good few mid teens and one each day over 17lb.
Meltham & District SAC member Dave Blakey, landing the largest, a superb 17lb 10oz specimen, leading the way in our 6 week long Pure Fishing Spurdog competition, catch the heaviest over this period and win a Greys GR100S 20lb Boat & Abu Ambassedeur 7000C LW multiplier reel combo.
