Hi, It's been a windy couple of weeks and we've struggled to get out sometimes. Luckily the fishing inshore has been good and we've had plenty of Tope and Huss, plus other species like Wrasse, pollock, coley, mackerel plus codling, whiting and dabs. I'm now hoping for a decent settled spell but I'll take what comes!

Report from a recent wrecking trip.

The lads wanted to be back by a certain time so we gave them options of a shorter trip out to deeper wrecks or to try some wrecks that we normally fish late May early June before the temps warm up down deep.

On arrival at the first wreck some 18 miles south the sounder showed a good patch of fish but after the first few drifts this soon played out to be fish in the 2-5lb range bit exactly what we were looking for sooo I quick discussion over a fresh breakfast butty we turned the boat headed west and powered the boat up to speed for 45 minutes out to the deep waters.

A few wrecks targeted and soon we had a large quantity of fish to the boat in the 8-12lb range.......can we say business as usual?

We got the lads back to the mariner for 6pm so they could make there journey back home and full of fresh hotpot from the steam back to port.

Thanks again to Swan Fishing Club, see you next time

We took advantage of flat calm seas on Sunday and fished a few wrecks offshore. It was definitely a red letter day and I don't think I have ever seen so many double figure pollack, probably at least 20 doubles. The biggest one was 16.5 lb caught by Brian (pictured), who's been fishing with us for over 30 years, over the moon with this PB.

Weather is set fair for a few days now, but tides are big, so we'll be mainly doing ground fishing trips where the fishing has also been good this summer.

We have room for two on a three day Ireland trip on 26th-28th August if anyone fancies another crack at some double figure pollack. The trip costs £350 including 2 nights B and B, with a maximum of only 8 on the boat.

    Cheers,

    Carl.

Out fishing today although the weather wasn't brilliant. Tope to 25lb, huss to 14.5lb, loads of whiting and a few pollack. Not bad for an inshore trip but will be better if the weather settles down. Good tides coming up so should be able to get to the big pollock on the wrecks if the weather settles.

    Report on-board Gwen-Paul-M

We've been busy over the last month despite the challenging weather, considering its summer!. The ground fishing has been good with more thornback rays than we've seen for many years. There's been a few tope to 30lb and huss to 15lb mixed in with the rays. The wrecks have also been fishing well with pollack to 13.5lb, coalfish to 5lb, ling to 9lb and cod to 7lb. A three day Isle of Man trip last weekend saw some great weather with plenty of species including the colourful cuckoo wrasse.

There are spaces listed on the schedule but please ring if there isn't a suitable trip for you to book and I'm sure we'll be able to sort something out.

    Cheers,

    Carl 07710819747.
