Plenty of bass showing along with the cods, get on down with a bucket of Lug !
Well done to Gary S and his two mates on sunday, kept 7 bass and returned about 15 that were over MLS.

Well what can i say about our Fantastic start on sat to the winter fishing on the river Mersey this year we had 50 thornback rays to 11 lb in a 2 hour spell over low water ,plenty of good sized whiting and a load of dabs and dogs

The boat is based in Liverpool Marina for the winter.Species that can be caught are thornback ray ,cod,dabs ,whiting ,strap conger,flounder ,and a few dogfish.If you fancy a trip give me a call

Well the boat is now at Pier Rd, Littlehampton, so if you've been on the boat from Ford note the new location. September saw a total of 16 species on the boat including bream, bass, cod, conger, whiting, tope, thornbacks and smoothounds. The last weekend was probably the best, with the small tides we went out and anchored a deep hole both days and the weather couldnt have been calmer. Saturday saw the first cod to baits at anchor this year and Ron who was out celebrating his 82nd birthday had the best fish, an eel of 40lb. Sundays best fish went to Charlotte on her first trip, the only other fish she has caught being the mackerel bait on the way out. After that she went on to catch another three eels I think. With the cod turning up to baits I look forward to October and the rest of the winter. October shoud continue to turn up big eels as well as bream and bass amongst the cod and other species.

FLAMER III - SEPTEMBER 2009 REPORT - Well bar for a week of strong north east winds the weather was good.The fishing was just SUPERB.The turbot,brill fishing on the Shambles Bank was just brilliant also some 4Ib plus plaice were caught on the bank as well.The mussel beds was very good for plaice,bream,cod,gurnards etc.
The Reefs produced some good black bream fishing along with bull huss,cod,congers,tope,undulate rays etc.The ray fishing was good on marks to the east of the port and on the kidney bank with many 15Ib plus rays being caught.Trigger fish also featured on a mark east of Weymouth.57 different species have now been caught on Flamer III in 2009 which has equaled last years total.
Flamer III Fish of the Month for September was awarded to Andy Collings for his 27Ib blonde ray.Andy is pictured with his ray catch.Incidently this was Andy's first ever blonde ray.

The Thamesdown Pirates enjoyed a great days fishing aboard Predator II and boated a total of 15 rays. Pictured here is Dale with the biggest fish of the day which weighed in at 12lbs 9oz. All fish were returned to fight another day.

They`re here in Numbers !
No need to spend ages steaming over the horizon and more time fishing !
At last the cod have moved inshore. Over the weekend we had good Cod to the boat including specimens of over 12 lb, lovely fish for so early in the inshore season. We fished both days on a patch of rough ground just outside the Goodwin Sands. As well as the cod we had a few nice smooth hounds to 9lb and lunker bass.
Well done to Steve K`s and Russ C`s parties on their catches of coddies, hounds and bass. Fish hard lads and the results do come !

had a great day on the boat on sunday weather great too got lots of whiting few nice codling to 5ibs skate and dogs a bass and a smoothound off 6lbs the lads on the boat are called the canvey pirates.

This weekend has seen some excellent fishing but on Sunday a group of anglers from Newcastle between them managed to break three records
after wreck fishing all morning and bagging plenty of nice ling and a few cod I decided to head for the ground and in no time the fish were having it, a cracking ling of 15.2oz came up for young Jack and a personal best for him well done mate,the other anglers heads were down and not wanting to be out done by such a young lad (as they had a sweep going for first and second heaviest fish of the day) the very next drift Wayne fishing at the back of the boat and with a fishing rod about 1 meter long
( no joking the rod had been broken on several previous ocasions,)
hit into a whopper the stumpy little rod with no end eye was nearly bent double the fish gave a good account of it’s self with Wayne puffing like steam boat and eventually up came another two personal bests one for Wayne and another for the new sea urchin 2 a ling of nearly 24lbs
