Report on-board Sweet William
It was a slow start to the day; the mackerel were fairly patchy in the morning but we finally got enough for bait.

There were fish pretty much everywhere we went but not in huge quantities. The stamp of the fish made up for it with a 22 lb Ling coming aboard, a 12.5 lb Pollack and a lovely clean Sprag well into double figures.
Once again the guys fished hard until the last drop. -

The lads found themselves a cracking stamp of Codling, Ling and some chunky Coalies with plenty of Mackerel for sport.

The objective last Sunday was to find the Mackerel, which we did (it hasn't been that easy lately as they have been fairly patchy).

A good stamp of Codling, Ling, Pollack, Haddock, Pouting and Whiting also came aboard during the course of the day. -

The tail end of the persistent South Easterly made it hard going but we still found a Pollock, and some cracking Mackerel and Coalies for bait and for the pan (with a nice sunset to top it off). -

It was a tale of two halves tonight; we were met with a choppy South Easterly as we exited the Tyne piers, and an absolutey flat calm stunning sunset welcomed us back home later that evening.

Craig, Ron, Mark, Stu and the lads took the rough with the smooth and soldiered on until both the tide and conditions eased off, and found some great Ling, Codling, Haddock, Pouting and Mackerel for their efforts! Henry snatched the sweep from Craig on the second last wreck of the night, with a lovely clean 8lb Codling. -

A great afternoon out with Sherene and her friends who were a lovely group of people. We hit 3 inshore marks and 2 provided plenty of fish all be it nothing huge! Lots of plaice with a couple meal size and countless bream mainly smalls but several big enough for the table a very decent size. Some much fun we stayed out for an extra hour and all came in happy and looking forward to a fish dinner! -

Report on-board Galloper
Sorry I haven't put much on lately, the great weather has often meant I've been working long hours with no signal. There have been some lovely fish showing with some chunky bass among the schoolies. The hound fishing has been pretty good in places and there's one or two rays and tope showing too. We will be starting our offshore bass trips soon and they continue until the start of December.

I have availability for groups and individuals over the next few weeks. We are running all sorts of trips from 4hr inshore trips to offshore trips targeting bass and flatties and of course mixed general trips for smooth hounds and bass.

Fishing Report by Andy Savage
on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl
I’ve struggled to find time to do a daily report recently, but the last three days fishing has seen a familiar pattern emerge each day for us.
View Boats Page
All three days were spent fishing on Spring tides between 5.1m and 5.3m, not enormous, but certainly a quick enough drift to make for challenging conditions with a bit of breeze. On these size tides, the days are generally spent on a mix of wrecks around slack water and drifting rough ground when the tide was running.
The way the periods of slack water fell, meant we started each day with a couple of wrecks. It was noticeable, that as soon as the tide dipped, the fish started feeding well and we had a reasonable start each day taking Codling and Ling with a couple around the 7lb mark. Slack water was quiet each day, then as soon as the new tide bent through, there would be another feeding spell until the tide built up to full speed.
Each day, once the tide was at its peak, sport literally stopped. The fish were there, but clearly just weren’t feeding. Over the three days we’ve fished rough ground at 3, 5, 7 and 20+ miles with very similar results.
We kept on the move during these periods, trying different areas and lines, but we had meagre pickings, with just an occasional odd fish. Thankfully on Sunday and Monday the second slack periods also delivered a few nice fish to end the day, which was great.
Tactics wise, it was the “Whitby usual”…Muppet traces baited with Squid and/or Mackerel for the wrecks. Baited Hokkai’s on the rough ground. Shads were tried a couple of times, but not with much consistency. My son William accompanied us on Sunday along with Grandad. He’s caught on rough ground plenty of times, but on Sunday he had his first go at wrecking fishing. He landed (on his own) his first Ling from out of the wreck at 4lb 8oz, so it was a proud Dad moment for me! He’s only 11 and it was a battle royale all the way up.
A huge thanks to all the anglers who’ve been out with us the last three days. Everyone was fantastic company and I am so grateful for the support.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl

It was great to see the lads from plumbcity Braintree again the other day. The weather was gorgeous and the fishing was busy from the first cast. There were good numbers of hounds, some small tope, dogfish, rays and some nice bass. The only downside was being stuck with a load of plumbers but I suppose you can't have everything! Great to see the lads again and you are welcome anytime if you bring weather and fishing like that.
