Report on-board Galloper
We took advantage of a brief weather window the other day and enjoyed a fantastic day on the bass. Traditionally we would have written off bass fishing by the end of November but who could ignore fishing like this? Lures were the order of the day and with some fish pushing double figures this really was fantastic sport. Steve canham couldn't put a foot wrong and bought a steady stream of fish aboard all day. He was so busy that when I asked for a picture and went to grab my phone he had another by the time a returned! Steve was top rod on the day with 40-50 bass easily. Closely followed by Barry (who kept count with 36), Steve hill and the rest of the lads. Even I managed to nick a few out between netting, unhooking and steering. With bass still showing inshore we will be heading offshore in search of them in to December this year weather permitting. Please get in touch if you want to join us. I also have spaces this week on general trips

Fishing Report by phillip browning
on Braveheart II (Wallasea Island, Essex)
Nov 2023 by phillip browning
Report on-board Braveheart II
The last month or so has seen some excellent fishing aboard BRAVEHEARTII and as the water temperature remained high the smoothounds hung around a bit longer than usual, as well as inshore bass. From early/mid September onwards the bass shoal up and fatten up before moving off for the winter and when the weather allowed we had some excellent days fishing on the offshore banks for these chunky autumn fish. One session saw an angler catching 2x 8lb + bass almost back to back the second of which tangled with my line that i cut off in a second because i knew it was a good fish even before i saw it and didn't want the angler to lose it. He caught these lovely fish and others in the 4-5lb range using the boats hire tackle and outfished everyone as is often the case with the hire equipment as these are set up right. As the whiting shoals have moved inshore we have started fishing for cod and hope to see the first arrivals soon but in the meantime, whiting, lsd's, dabs and thornback rays make up the bulk of the catches.

If you would like to book the boat or space aboard BRAVEHEARTII please call on ☎️ 07970 728707
i am also taking bookings for the whole boat for next year no deposits required at this stage so be sure to get booked fast to avoid disappointment
The whole boat is £360 for 10hr up to 6 anglers and £270 for 5hrs, frozen bait included and hire tackle available.....I will take 7 anglers for a small additional charge for the extra angler ( please enquire) i will also be targeting stingrays in August as we had some very successful sessions targeting these amazing fish.
All the best and tight lines

Keirans group may not have had the weather to get offshore for bass but thankfully there were plenty of fish to keep them busy inshore. The whiting and dogfish were there in droves but there were a few dabs, rays and I think even a small bass made an appearance. The inshore fishing should remain busy like this until after Christmas. Hopefully with the addition of a few more codling too. I have spaces this Wednesday and full boat availability over the next few weeks so please get in touch if you want to join us.

Joe and the lads made the most of a weather window the other day and were rewarded with a great day offshore on the bass. It was very busy at times as expected with several of the lads on a fish a cast. The stamp wasn't huge but there were plenty for the table and great sport with the rest.

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
Arthur and Stan from the South East had their last day out of their four days with us yesterday.
View Boats Page
They were joined by Simon from Lancashire.
I did give Simon the option of travelling across when we spoke the evening before with the forecasts not really being too favourable and he decided to give it a try.
We were always going to get to sea with the morning’s breeze coming from the West, but weren’t sure how long we were going to get as the forecasts were giving the breeze to swing more NW.
We decided to sail an hour early to try gain the best of the early calmer weather conditions and when we arrived at the first mark it was just breaking daylight.
No matter, the anchor was dropped and we started.
First fish on board was a Pouting, sharply followed by a lovely Cod of 7lb 12oz caught by Stan.
The fish didn’t commit properly to the fresh baits on offer and were very finicky.
Plenty of bites but not many solid takes with just half a dozen fish taken there.
A short move further inshore to a mark in just five fathom of water proved a good one.
A nice sprinkling of Codling coming onboard straight away with a couple of oddments boated too.
Simon clicking a small Conger just under 5lbs (first one since the ones we had early this year and was returned safely) and Stan with a pesky Dogfish!
Fergus dropped a nice big juicy bait in a landed himself a nice Cod just over 8lbs. Super sport in the shallow water!
Before we knew it, it was time to up anchor and head back home.
Three very happy chaps at the end of day taking some nice fish back for the plates.
A couple of fish which may have been contenders for the upcoming Uptiding Competition today.
Let’s hope the weather lets us try for a few more like these next week.
Competition 25th November to 3rd December. £1000.00 for the heaviest fish landed over the 9 days. Just a few places left now.
Cheers
Rich

The inshore fishing is still steady with loads of fish on our sheltered marks meaning little reason to cancel. Of course there are still hoards of whiting and dogfish with a few dabs and pouting in between. There are a few rays, codling and surprisingly still bass to showing to put a bend in the rods. There must be plenty about as even the skipper can catch them (must work on my selfie skills)

Fishing Report by Andy Savage
on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)
19 Nov 2023 by Andy Savage
Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl
It’s been great to finally have a few days back at sea with some better weather. The tides have been perfect for Uptiding, so that’s what we’ve been doing.
View Boats Page
I like to report both good, average and poor days as I think it’s important to provide balance. Not every day can be a Red Letter Day and the last three trips I’ve done, have certainly been wide of the mark on being a “Red Letter Day”. The three trips have seen varied levels of angler experience. Thursday saw Igors Fortuna and his mates book the boat. With no Uptiding experience at all, it was a learning curve and whilst we did get a picking of small Codling, the lads underestimated the importance of bait and ran a bit short of worm (which I find essential).
Friday was one of my fishing days with some friends who all love Uptiding. We had a lot of good bait and everyone knew the drills. We had just started getting a few fish, when a seal turned up and took the fish off we hooked. The rest of the day was spent moving from place to place, trying to string a few fish together. Tony Barrett took the best of the day at around 5lb.
Today I had a group of mixed experience anglers aboard. To be fair, they all fished really well and kept at it all day. There was a small picking of fish, but once again, nothing exceptional. What we seem to be experiencing is that on arrival at a new spot, there have been a few bites from the fish that are in the immediate vicinity of the boat, then it quietens down. There don’t seem to be many flushes of fresh fish running through, so we’re not getting a second, third, fourth run of fish and have to keep moving to find bites.
The usual baits of Dirty Squid, Black Lug, Crab Cart/Wings have been doing the majority of the bites on running ledgers and flowing traces. I believe it’s only a matter of time before we get some fresh fish of a bigger average size moving through. A bit of a cold spell certainly wouldn’t go amiss.
Thanks to everyone for the support and being great company on these more difficult days.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl
