I have fished since I could hold a rod and grew up aboard my dads charter boats in the 90's. as I got older I took my Orkney longliner out and my dads boats when I got the chance. I am obsessed with fishing I have no other real hobbies and just about any free time I have is devoted to fishing related activities. This may sound a bit sad but as I enjoy all kinds of fishing I have little time for anything else. My real passion is for sea angling but if I had more time I would like to spend a little more time fresh water fishing aswell. the first 'Galloper' was bought by myself and my dad back in 2007.she was a brinkliner 28 and kept me busy for a couple of years. My wife stacey and i bought the second 'Galloper' back in march 2009 she was an aquastar 33 and we ran her untill 2013 when we bought our evolution 33 also named 'galloper' and the evolution did very well over the next six and a half years.
early in 2019 we bought a blyth 33 and spent 10 months completely overhauling her to bring her up to the standard we like to give our customers. the bltyh catamaran is a vary stable and spacious platform which is very popular with the anglers for her speed, room and stability.
i look forward to many good trips aboard her over the coming years. Although I'm only in my 30'sI have plenty of experience as a skipper as before all of this i was running my dads boats since I got my Yachtmasters Offshore licence when I was 17 so I HAVE NOW BEEN A QUALIFIED CHARTER SKIPPER FOR OVER 20 YEARS before that I was taking his boat out with my grandad or brothers or friends whenever I could. I like to think that all of this along with many holidays spent fishing other venues has helped make me one of the most experienced skippers around.

Excellent Skipper went with two non fisherman friends and he could not do enough to help them, which let me get on with my fishing. Mind you think I should have got some help as they caught more than me.
Skippers Reponse: i'm glad you enjoyed your day Greg. thank you for taking the time to review your experience. best leave the others behind next time!!

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin

It was great to be joined by dad and some of his friends chasing the bass offshore again. The weather was decent and so was the fishing. Andy was top rod and couldn't stop catching throughout the day. To be honest I have no idea how many he had in total but they kept him busy all day. The rest of the guys had fish at various times throughout the day and there were some decent chunky fish among them. They must have been pretty easy to catch as even dad had a few! The bass fishing offshore runs into December nowadays and is the best fishing we can offer locally this time of year.
I have plenty of availability for groups and individuals depending on conditions we can use worms at anchor or lures and lives on the drift. I also have spaces for general fishing closer to shore.

It's great to be back on the sunshine Coast (Essex) and chasing the bass once again. Our cornish adventure seems like a distant memory and we're well and truly back in the swing of things here in Brightlingsea. The bass are offshore in numbers and feeding nicely. We will be targeting these offshore for the next couple of months in various different ways. I have spaces for individuals and group bookings offshore and on our general trips in the coming weeks. Currently the bass seem pretty widespread offshore, with a mix of sizes and pretty obliging. Mick had the most on the last trip with 18 to his rod. Not bad considering he says circles are cheating so is fishing with the handicap of j hooks (but rather a lot of experience).

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin

Thank you Falmouth, it's been a blast! Sorry for the radio silence but the last few weeks have been very full on. Falmouth was everything I hoped it would be. The weather was up and down as was the fishing but working from Falmouth we were well placed to make the best of what came our way.
Aside from the tuna we've been treated to countless common dolphins, risso dolphins, minke whales and a surprising number of fin whales which led to some incredibly memorable experiences. There were lots of other fish species which I will include in future reports. I've been joined by lots of lovely people. Many old faces and some new. The other skippers and locals were very friendly and welcoming. It was really nice to be greeted by some friendly faces in the marina ect day.
There was great food, laughs and dubious stickers appearing. Galloper has been fantastic, I ask a lot of my beaten up old blyth and she doesn't let me down. Even down to the ride home when were being chased down the channel by the storm. Those big doosans have more than earned another service after the hours they have pushed me along over the last few weeks.
We've been back in Essex and slaying the whiting and dogfish over the weekend. Thankfully we did find some shelter and some other bits and bobs to put smiles on faces.
I'll put some more Falmouth reports in soon in between the Essex ones.
For now I will include my next available dates from Essex

We might be chasing tuna currently but it won't be long before we are back in Essex chasing those autumn bass. The first couple of months of our offshore bass season were prolific and this bodes well for the autumn run when the bass are feeding hard. We will be targeting bass offshore on most tides throughout October and November and even early December. On a range of methods from lures and lives on the drift to worms at anchor depending on conditions.
We have availability for general trips too.

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin

We've enjoyed our first few days joining the tuna party down in Cornwall. The journey down was far from flat calm but but Galloper powered down there regardless. We made great time and got the tides just about perfect. For a huge chunk of the trip the big doosans were pushing us along at 18-20knt and so we did the journey in 20hrs.
Although the weather wasn't perfect for our first few trips and we had to work for the fish but we managed to put the lads on a few and got off to a great start. Falmouth did us proud offering the shelter and the fishing we needed. Let's hope we the rest of the season is as kind to us.
Thanks to those who have already joined us. Alex you made the trip down and the first few days easier and Barry for your help (including the grapes). I can't wait to share the rest of the adventure with those who are joining us over the next few weeks.
I have one individual space left for the 12/09 other than that I'm currently fully booked for the rest of the season.
Please get in touch on 07956411528 if you are interested.
