Boat and Skipper Details
We have recently purchased a blyth 33 catamaran powered by two 8.2litre doosan engines capable of cruising 16-18knts with a flat out speed over 23knts. the blyth catamaran is a fast modern boat comfortable both at anchor and under steam. She has some indoor seating a toilet accessible at deck level and spray cover to keep you drier and more comfortable. we have a live well on deck and seating for more than 10 people on deck.
with a beam of 5 meters there is loads of deck room even with 10 anglers on board.
WE ARE AVAILABLE TO TAKE BOOKINGS 7 DAYS A WEEKS 12 MONTHS OF THE YEAR
most trips run from 6-7.30am untill 16.00-17.00 at night although if you book the boat we can arrange times around you. we also offer night trips from 1600-12.30am at night and evening trips in the river from 1600-2000hrs in the estuary. these are available upon request and we can arrange trips to suit your requirements.
we have hire tackle available with penn fixed spool reels at £10 per rod per day.

I have fished since I could hold a rod and grew up aboard my dads charter boats in the 90's. as I got older I took my Orkney longliner out and my dads boats when I got the chance. I am obsessed with fishing I have no other real hobbies and just about any free time I have is devoted to fishing related activities. This may sound a bit sad but as I enjoy all kinds of fishing I have little time for anything else. My real passion is for sea angling but if I had more time I would like to spend a little more time fresh water fishing aswell. the first 'Galloper' was bought by myself and my dad back in 2007.she was a brinkliner 28 and kept me busy for a couple of years. My wife stacey and i bought the second 'Galloper' back in march 2009 she was an aquastar 33 and we ran her untill 2013 when we bought our evolution 33 also named 'galloper' and the evolution did very well over the next six and a half years.
early in 2019 we bought a blyth 33 and spent 10 months completely overhauling her to bring her up to the standard we like to give our customers. the bltyh catamaran is a vary stable and spacious platform which is very popular with the anglers for her speed, room and stability.
i look forward to many good trips aboard her over the coming years. Although I'm only in my 30'sI have plenty of experience as a skipper as before all of this i was running my dads boats since I got my Yachtmasters Offshore licence when I was 17 so I HAVE NOW BEEN A QUALIFIED CHARTER SKIPPER FOR OVER 20 YEARS before that I was taking his boat out with my grandad or brothers or friends whenever I could. I like to think that all of this along with many holidays spent fishing other venues has helped make me one of the most experienced skippers around.

We had a fantastic day out fishing with Scott. Very friendly and extremely helpful to us novices. Coffee and tea served regularly throughout the day. All in all, one brilliant day and will definitely be going again.

This time of year is great for beginners as there are stacks of fish inshore to keep us busy. Stanley might not be a beginner but he had great fun in the rain the other day showing us how it's done. There were loads of whiting and dogfish around with lots of double shots of fish for him. he did manage a few dabs which is what he told me he tied the trace for. It was also lovely to see dad on board spending some time with him too. Although for some reason dad spent most of the day hiding from the rain in the wheelhouse. It certainly didn't put Stanley off and the rest of lads did very well too. There will be lots of fish like this inshore for the next few months. The dads have really increased in numbers as we would expect and on the right tides there are a lot to be caught. At some point in the new year I fancy having a play for flounders too. With the bass fishing being so good offshore we were keen to push off the lads undeterred by big boys weather. To be honest for most of the day it really was surprisingly comfortable due to being on a big catamaran. the ride home that was less comfortable but once the tide turned and the wind was with it things started to sort themselves out.
The 4 lads had the boat to themselves although I snuck a rod out too. Fishing was very good once again. There was a range of sizes on the fish but several in the 4-6lb bracket. I didn't manage any of these myself to be honest. I managed 10-15 small bass with my biggest falling off as I lifted it in last cast. I wasn't too sad as it was only 3-4lb. I Missed countless bites as every time my rod went I was busy netting, unhooking, untangling or making tea. I guess I'm just not pationate enough to be fishing that much myself ��. The lads had more than me and so between just the 5 rods we had a lot of fish and called it early at around 12.45 so we could take our time and make the journey in as comfortable as possible.
In contrast, the weather looks great for later this week and the fish are still there.

The blustery weather hasn't stopped us finding the bass. At times I have questioned everyone's sanity. Surely they know I'm not sane enough to be making the choices? Thankfully the Galloper has looked after us and provided the ideal platform to keep catching the fish despite some poor conditions. The real credit goes to the lads who continue to turn up and put the effort in when surprisingly it isn't flat calm and 30c in the end of October. The stamp was very mixed on the bait fishing with loads of smaller bass and some quality amongst them. It really does justify the effort to catch them before they migrate away in a month or so.
In between the bass we've had some whiting, dogfish and hounds but it is mostly bass on those offshore banks.
Inshore is rammed with whiting and dogfish with a few dabs starting to show. There are lots of small bass in places inshore and one or two rays if you are lucky.

Obviously when conditions suit we jump on the lure fishing. The lads had a steady days fishing for bass on the lures the other day. It was big boys weather which kept us on our toes. There was a real mix of sizes but some decent quality fish among them. Wd saw some scad and pouting too and moved around throughout the day to keep the bass coming in. Choice of lure was very important depending on the state of the tide but the lads adapted well which payed off.
It's not all about the bass and I do have spaces one a couple of general trips this week. The tides are good and there's a mountain of dogfish and whiting inshore to keep the kids busy on school holidays with the chance of rays, bass and other species too.

Bass and bass and more bass offshore. I think we had a couple of small hounds, dogfish and whiting mixed in along with a small tope last week but if you want bass then now is the time and offshore is the place. Top rod must have had in excess of 20 bass though I didn't count. Stanley was getting amongst them and I even managed to sneak a couple out while he had a nap!
The bass will be offshore until December and I have plenty of spaces for general and offshore trips between now and then.
