Boat and Skipper Details
Ocean Odyssey is 10m Cougar Catamaran giving a spacious deck and great sea keeping. She is coded to Cat 2 (60NM from a safe haven day or night) 10 passengers plus 2 crew. She is powered by twin 300hp Yamaha outboards so has a decent turn of speed. Our typical cruising speed is 20knts+ More speed means less travel time and therefore more fishing. On a good day, we can cover the 35miles from Milford to the Celtic Deeps in 1.5hrs. With a 60NM code of practice we can operate all over the Bristol channel and far offshore from west wales to get try and make the most of the some of the finest fishing in Wales.
If you have a particular species of fish you’d like to target let us know and we’ll do our best to tailor a trip to suit your needs.
Weekends available, weekdays are available just give a call. Please note that phone is best way to get quickest response but all emails will be answered.
In addition to fishing trips we are open for sea safaris, safety boat work, filming or just general sightseeing.
10years+ experience fishing the Bristol channel and West Wales. With a passion for all kinds of fish from the smaller species like mackerel all the way to sharks and tuna, Luke will do his best to find the fish. He loves nothing more than seeing rods bent into a good fish! As qualified Yachtmaster Offshore with full commercial endorsement, safety and enjoyment is his priority.

Fishing Report by Luke Evans
Sep 2024 by Luke Evans
Over the past few weeks the tuna fishing has really switched on in West Wales. We have been targetting these fish when we are out sharking, often stopping for a go on the way home from a days sharking. This has allowed us to enjoy some of the excellent sharking as a warm up before getting arms aching with a BFT on the line to end the day!
We have managed to locate the fish on multiple trips and its multiple fish per day. Best fish so far is a 105inch beast so in the 700-800lb classs.
As the autumn approaches we will be move to target these fish on dedicated trips, especially as the blue sharks will start to move away in a few weeks time. We have a limited number of dates left for the season so if you want a chance to tussle with a welsh sea monster drop us a line.
More photos and videos can be found on our facebook page and instagram. -

Welsh Tuna 2024
We are pleased to say that we will be once again be able to legally target bluefin tuna from welsh waters. We are awaiting full details but we will be looking to offer both dedicated tuna trips as well as a mix of shark and tuna comb trips in addition to our schedule of shark trips.
Please drop us a line to discuss your needs and we will do our best to accommodate!
Please note our tuna and shark trips are strictly catch and release. We are involved in tagging programs for both species and are actively contributing to the pat smith database to collect data on shark movements as well as tagging any tuna for ICAAT. -

Blue sharks are now around in good numbers.
Best blue is 200lb for the season so far, plenty of ton up fish around too.
The reefs continue to offer excellent sport for pollack, wrasse, mackerel, coalfish and a few cod as well. -

We are now running 2 boats.
We have the existing Odyssey (a lovely Evolution 30) as well as a 10m Cougar Catamaran.
Both boats are coded for same operating range. As a husband and wife team Emma or Luke will be your skipper for the day. If you see a date your interested in is booked on one boat, feel free to drop a line as the other boat maybe free.
Both Emma and Luke are both fully commercially endorsed skippers, we are all fully insured and both boats comply with the MCA regulations and are coded by the YDSA coding agency. -

So we finally found a weather window to get out to the local reefs. Plenty of action on the lures. Using a mix of soft plastics and SPJ the team captured in excess of 150 pollack to around 6lb. No monsters but great sport on light gear.
In addition we had, launce, coalfish, pouting, cuckcoo wrasse, and a greater weever. Final species total was 7.
Now awaiting the next weather window to get out again :)
