Well what can I say?? Made the long trip from down south to have a day fishing out of Whitby on the the "Mistress" and what a fabulous and most enjoyable day I had - In the very capable hands of Skipper Rich Cope we headed South to Robin Hoods Bay to some of the skipper's marks he had on his radar/sonar. The first thing that impressed me was the professionalism of Rich to get the boat lined up in exactly the right position in what can only be described as "precision parking". Bites were a bit slow to start with so in his determination to get some action the skipper upped anchor and set off to another mark. Every venue we went to we caught fish but it was one of those days when Mr Codling wasn't in the hungriest of moods but the action lasted all day which made for a fantastic trip. Rich was an total professional in everything he did for us and I can't thank him enough and I will definitely be up to Whitby again to go out on the "Mistress" If I were asked to describe the skipper Rich Cope it would be "A Fishing Fanatic". He will do anything go anywhere to catch that all important fish - Thanks for a great day out.

On a slow day for all the Whitby boats Rich gave his all and after much hard work got everyone onto a few fish. The bites were finnicky and the fish were very localised in tight pockets. I had a flurry of activity and got some decent codlings. Cheers Rich...you know we'll be back.

Tried Rich's new evening fishing trip 5pm-10pm. Started slow but Rich being Rich hunted around and soon put us onto fish,the 8 people fishing all caught some cod. It was a very enjoyable experience and one that should be popular. Thanks Rich, you were top class as usual.Charles Gibson.

Well what can I say after several fruitless trips to Aldeburgh this winter it was time to throw caution to the wind and take a trip off Whitby on a short visit to family in Sunderland. Great crack with the excellent skipper Rich Cope who must REALLY knows ever inch of the Whitby coast line. We were into fish almost immediately on dropping anchor and Rich's intimate knowledge provided great dividends for local guest house owner Alan Ward and myself. The only regret was that we couldn't stay out longer but the first telephone I will be making on any future visit North is whether there is any availability on the good ship Mistress. Days like this are unforgettable and Friday night's cod supper with my girls Lauren and Megan was testament to a brilliant time at sea. Keep up the good work Rich your fan base can only expand!!!

A short uptiding trip- but certainly a great 4 hours. Codling all round for everyone, plenty of bites and a few dropped off. 110% effort from Rich as always.

This was our first outing from whitby so we didnt know what to expect but rich and deano aboard mistress soon sorted that out.Seven of us from Hull went out and all of us caught plenty making it an excellent day out all round.Top class skipper and crew,great boat,plenty of laughs,plenty of fish,even for the ones that dont really go fishing.We are definately booking again.Many thanks to Rich and Deano for a brilliant day,Lee

Brillant - in a word! A great day Uptiding to Christen my new rod. Ten codling to over 5lbs with almost a bite a cast. The weather was kind and the sea fairly calm. I had no friends to go with this trip but I was made to feel very welcome by everyone anyway so it didn't matter. I've been with Rich for a couple of years now and he really knows where to find the fish!

today i had my first trip on mistress with my grandad it was a four hour uptiding trip i enjoyed it very much i got help and good advice from both skipper rich and crewman deano it helped me to catch some fish so a big thanks to you both i hope to be back on mistress soon for another fantastic trip thanks from zak age 10
