Just done my last trip of the year. Not because I don't want to go again, it's because my freezer is full of cod and ling, this is all down to Rich Cope and his boat Mistress,every time I fish with him I come home with enough fillets to feed a small army. I can not fault Rich in any way he's always on hand to sort out tangles, landing fish, and even tying traces for inexperienced anglers so they stand a chance of landing a decent sized ling or cod. I would recommend him to anybody that is wanting to have a good days wreck fishing. See you soon Rich. .......................Ivan.

Had a great day fishing on Mistress with her excellent skipper Rich. I went with my two brothers who are both sea fishing novices. Rich took the time to ensure that everyone knew what they were doing so crossed lines were kept to a minimum and everyone caught. I landed my first north sea pollock and added a few cod/ling/whiting. I even had a bit of fish envy when one of the guys landed an 8lb Wolf fish. Rich worked hard all day. I've been with several skippers now and I thought he was by far the best. Thanks Rich!

rich has to be the best skipper i have been with, he works hard for all fishing and when the marks dryup moves you onto another mark, we had 5 ling between 10-15lb, cod 6lb and two of the ugliest fish i have ever seen there was loads of fun had through out they day. would reccomend to all wanting a great value for money guy. cheers for the trip see you again soon .ady

WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY OUT ON THE MISTRESS!!! (24-07-13) I cannot recommend this boat/skipper combination highly enough! Superb!! Eight of us hired the Mistress for a days fishing. This was only my second time out; the first (on another boat) was in horrendous weather resulting in a very low catch for the day (me with only one), so I wasn’t expecting great things. How wrong could I be?! Rich seemed a little concerned about catching much as it was a very high 6M tide (does that make a difference?!) but we duly set off keen and eager. From the very first stop we were catching. As soon as the bites dried up Rich was straight off to the next spot where the catching began again! I think during the whole day we only drew a blank on one marker. Everyone caught well, even me landing eight which made my day, and I think in the end we landed nearly sixty good sized fish between us! Rich’s enthusiasm, skill and friendliness really made the day. As soon as we stopped to fish he was out of the cabin helping land fish, unravel tangles, giving advice and generally encouraging us to ‘go for it lads’. I believe he had as much fun as we did! Rich, I’d like to thank you again for a GREAT day. I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun. We all came back delighted. I’m looking forward to sailing (and catching) with you again. what a day out on Mistress with skipper Rich, managed to get 2 places onboard, at short notice, and boy did Rich work to get us the fish, this lad puts in 110%, he consistently puts us on the marks and the fish were plentifull, i ended up with a mixed bag including some cracking cod to 8lb, my mate Gerry took the best onboard and a personal best cod of 14lb, all thanks to the tireless work of Rich, thanks for a great day hope we can repeat it soon, Graham and Gerry..,

Myself and 3 mates had our much awaited day out with Rich on Mistress recently. Unfortunately, as for most recently, the fishing was hard going, but Rich worked his backside off to try and find the fish for us. Then on every drift Rich was out on deck, working single handedly, tying rigs, filleting bait, undoing the tangles and landing the fish. He was always on hand to answer questions and offer advice, have a chat and a bit if banter with the lads. Thanks for all your efforts Rich, and for a very enjoyable day, Aidy

Booked with rich having not been out of whitby for some 20yrs, i also took along six mates 3 who had never fished before. What a day we had! RIch was so helpful taking time to help everyone on the boat while still getting us to the fish. We caught cod and ling which my mates had never done all in all we had a great day with a great skipper who knows how to get you fish thanks again rich will be seeing you soon

Another good day with Rich for me and my team of mates from Helmsley. I had four ling to around 7lbs and two codling around 4 to 5lbs - all taken on fresh mackerel fillet or small whole mackerel (from my freezer) fished below a single yellow muppet. Most of us managed a few ling and/or codling and we had mackerel by the bucketful, so plenty for bait and plenty to take home too! Another lovely day at sea, the calm conditions allowed us to see whales and dolphins and also the gannets were diving for mackerel near the surface - quite spectacular! Thanks again Rich.

Had the pleasure of fishing again with Rich Cope skipper of Mistress out of Whitby. A short evening competition where the local Charter Skippers Association give there boats for free to raise money for the RNLI resulted in quite a few fish and a a couple of section winners aboard . Junior and Ladies and if I had bothered to weigh mine possibly a 2nd in the Seniors. Great night had by all and well done Rich on finding some nice fish. Following day was the local Forum match and again Rich put us over some decent fish in what had been fairly testing times prior to the 2 events. Young Jack from Leicester showed the way taking some nice codling and ling and I managed 2nd with a ling just under 9lb. Rich worked his socks off looking for the fish and making sure every angler spent as much time as possible in the water by helping with sorting the tangles and unhooking fish. Infectious Skipper who's enthusiasm is 2nd to none .

Thanks for a cracking day Rich really enjoyed myself the weather was perfect with a flat calm sea and good crack with all the lads what more can you ask for ohh yes fish and you found them well done skipper. Looking forward to my next trip out on the good ship Mistress. I would highly recommend a trip out on this boat to anyone. Cheers Chris
