Me and Ed had another excellent day on the High Flyer, the banter flowing as much as the tea and biscuits, I started off a little slow then catching good sized Smooth Hounds, Dogs as well as good sized Whiting, Ed however only catching small whiting, I and the rest of the lads found this very amusing (sorry Ed but size does matter). If anyone is looking for a great day out fishing then the High Flyer is the boat to be on.

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Carl appreciate you guys driving that distance, nice to see boat record smoothound that day shame it didnt bite on Eds line!!! Look forward to next one mate. Cheers Jon (High Flyer)

Great day on the high flyer. Started off steaming out to see if we could get any early mackerel or tope. Unfortunately too much colour in the water. Fished several marks and caught sand eels, smoothies, doggies, flat ties and the ubiquitous whiting. Great knowledge from skipper Jon and his young relief skipper Chris.

Skippers Reponse: Cheers paul was good to have a bit of feathering again soon b mackerel bashing time. Was great day great weather for once! Jon.

Yet another good day out on High Flyer, my third trip out twelve days! A short motor out to the first mark,as the fish Jon knew to be close to the shore. Again some new faces and some familiar ones, three guy's from Cambridgeshire, new to sea fishing were soon up and running with Jon and "old hand" Chris's ( sorry for the "old" Chris ) helpful experience. Bathed in glorious sunshine, with a gentle breeze, Chris ( the "old hand" ☺ ) landed the first of the Skate of the day ( all Skate returned, nice to witness ) unfortunately as the tide run strengthened we were plagued by that very fine sea weed that forms small balls on the line, I'm sure that it has some fancy Latin name, but l gave it some plain English ones of my own !! We moved to our only second mark of the day, again Jon's local knowledge, weed free, producing some good sport for the Cambridgeshire lads and getting their personal sweepstake under way. Slack tide saw a short run of Smoothhounds before wind over tide conditions requiring that we should call an end to the day's play. Thanks to Jon and Chris for the up tide instruction, as I usually dangle over the blunt end for tangle free fishing, Cheers guys . Lee Weston
