Another great day with Jon onboard the High Flyer, set sail at 0800 and headed north looking for clear water for mackerel fishing, and found a great few shoals of mackerel with loads of mackerel, wind picked up, turned to a bloody eastly which was the kiss of death for fishing around here, swell started to pick up, so we headed inshore, went to a regular spot, but the wind was stronger than the tide and make it uncomfortable, so we headed in, but all in all a good day with loads of mackerel, tea and biscuits. Thanks again Jon :)

Skippers Reponse: Started well James, lovely british weather kicked in yet again! Least we had a nice busy spell and something to take home. Cheers mate see you soon. Jon.

Went out on Sunday for my Birthday and had a wonderful time. One of my friends(Dwight) caught a Sea Bass and boy was he excited. We would have caught more of them except for a few boats that decided to scare off the fish. Jon got us to the right fishing hole later on that afternoon and we were still catching fish. What a smashing day. Thank you Jon for the great Birthday present (all the fish that was caught). Shannon

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Shannon, yes bit of a bummer those boats spooked that shoal! your angling skills coming on a treat. thanks for spending your birthday on the Flyer! All the best. Jon

What a beautiful day to go fishing. The sea was so flat in the morning it felt like gliding on glass. Caught a few good eating fish. First time I've ever had a dog fish. Boy was it good. I want to go back for more. Jon is a great chap with a good sense of humour. Can't wait to go fishing again with him and his crew. Shannon

Skippers Reponse: Thanks Shannon, not many flat days this year! Glad you enjoyed the day always a pleasure to see you and appreciate the many people you bring. Jon.

day started brilliantly with flat seas and sun, but the weathermen proved as unreliable as some of the (absent) anglers as the wind and seas got progressively worse over the course of the day. However the fishign was good, got a nice ray, 2 good smoothies and a couple of doggies so i'm happy! Jon moved marks several times to keep us on fish and try to minimise the discomfort of rising seas. All in all a great day on the water. Many thanks as always Jon, looking forward to the next trip!

Great Day Out, I was made to feel very welcome by both the Skipper and the other guys on the boat many of whom were regulars. Despite the 40mph winds we had a good haul, and great fun throughout, my only hesitation was the skippers comment that his manhood is like a baby’s arm grabbing an apple which seemed to form the core of the jokes and yarns about his infamous past (those and the constant supply of coffee and chocky biscuits which kept our soggy spirits high), I’m sure there are many women in the UK who can confirm or refute that claim. Though from what I could make out and without staring, it was either a very cold day or he wore very tight jeans! Just keep poor Dave in mind his much assailed 1st mate, though I’m sure he has skin thicker than that of the thorn backs we caught & ate we has a great help to a novice like me and between the two they had great knowledge of the local haunts for fishing, drinking and general mischief.

Skippers Reponse: Cheers Mike, apart from fishing we also talk a load of crap! Glad you enjoyed the day we always have great banter, i must admit i love my job! Appreciate you coming out hope to see you soon. Jon.
