We also arrange upriver cruises to the Newcastle Quayside and can request the Gateshead Millennium Bridge to be opened for us when we arrive; perfect for a graduation celebration or a children's birthday party etc.

The boat is equipped with a full Furuno electronics package comprising the latest navigational and electronic aids, including a state of the art Furuno / WASSP F3 multi beam sonar to provide real time 3D images of the wrecks and seabed.

Sweet William is built and certified to the highest Seafish / MCA commercial specifications, and additionally RYA coded as both a light workboat and an angling vessel permitted to carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew. Sweet William's crew are both fully qualified commercial skippers, and the vessel and all passengers are covered with fully comprehensive insurance.

I’ve been out with Geoff and 1st man Henry on several occasions last year and this is honestly the best boat I’ve been on and I’ve been on lots from Whitby,Redcar,Hartlepool and Sunderland and this is my 1st and only choice from now on.Incredible boat and sonar helps Geoff put you bang over the wreck and
“almost “ guarantees you fish if their on the feed.
There’s not many boats that offer a clean toilet onboard and also crisps,Sandwiches and tea and coffee on slack water when the fish tend to go off the feed until the tide changes.I can recommend Sweet William for beginners and experts alike……10/10 all the way for me

  • 08/03/2025 Fishing Report by Geoff Sharp

8 Mar 2025 by Geoff Sharp

We had a last minute run out yesterday in the sun to stretch her legs. Some nice Codling made an appearance, and any amount of Pouting for sport. The vast majority of legal size but smaller stamp Codling went back, with about 20 better fish taken for the pan.

29 Dec 2024 by Geoff Sharp

We had a spur of the moment run out yesterday; just myself, Mark and Smirf, so I could wet a line for once and burn off some Christmas turkey without having to look after anyone.
It started out with ice on deck, turned into a stunning sunrise with minimal wind and flat seas, and ended up a cracking sunset on the run home.
We fished the flood on anchor and found some lovely Codling pan fillers, including a few Pouting for sport. I made the coffee, Mark provided the homemade Kebab pizza, and Smirf whipped out the homemade Samosas and Spring Rolls on an absolutely glorious day.
Once the bucket was filled with Codling we headed out to try a few inner wrecks at slack water on the run back, which didn't produce anything noteworthy.

14 Dec 2024 by Geoff Sharp

We nipped out briefly yesterday evening to stock up the freezer; some absolutely perfect pan-sized Codling coming aboard pretty much a fish a drop proving quite chaotic on the ebb, up until slack water.
It went completely dead until the tide turned, and was much slower on the flood.
The Codling fell to cocktails made up of cart wings supplied by Billy’s Fishing Tackle , dirty squid, mackerel slivers we'd vac-packed from earlier in the season, and mussel.

It was a windy, chilly, choppy run out recently with the Deaf Poland Fishing club.
The incredible sunrise and sunshine throughout the day took the edge off the chilly wind, and we managed to find lots of Scad, Coalies and Whiting to keep everyone busy, pretty much non-stop, until the run home.

23 Sep 2024 by Geoff Sharp

The lads had to work hard again this weekend with the massive tides and choppy conditions.
They managed to find some nice Codling, Pollock, Coalies, Haddock, strings of Scad and very small Ling, with any amount of Whiting and jumbo Mackerel still showing.
