The first wrecking trip of the year on Flamer IV was a success with the majority of the fish in double figures.Pink Red Gills and Rhubarb and Custard Sidewinders proved to be the most successful catching lures.Plenty of Pollack were caught along with two Ling.Kevin Clark had several double figure Pollack and the best Pollack of the day weighing14Ib 1oz..Russell Salmon also had a very good day with plenty of Pollack from 10Ib 14oz to 14Ib,Russell is pictures with his 14 pounder. Nice to see two Ling caught as well ,so the signs are looking good. My next Wrecking with places available is on March 13th and Ling and Pollack will be the target species.Don't Miss out.

  • 17/02/2015 Fishing Report by Sam Cumming on Silver Spray II (Poole, Dorset)

17 Feb 2015 by Sam Cumming

    Report on-board Silver Spray II

Much the same as last year, and most years, we haven’t been up to much since Januarys report due to the poor weather, only fishing the neap tides to target spur dogs and blonde rays. It’s been a brilliant season for both species already, we have managed to land more spur dogs in the last few trips than we did all of last year. The biggest tipping the scales at 23lb 4oz and the average being around 17lb. It really good to see the stock of spurs getting healthier every year although there aren’t anywhere near as many as there were thirty years ago from what people tell me. As usual along with the 2 main target species we have been getting plenty of bull huss, congers and other types of rays, on a couple of occasions we have even had so much by catch we end up running out of bait. Looking forward to the end of February when we have our first trips out to the wrecks for the spring pollock.

  • 17/02/2015 Fishing Report by Andrew McFarlane on Katie Ann (Weymouth, Dorset)

17 Feb 2015 by Andrew McFarlane

    Report on-board Katie Ann

This was the Blandford SAC's first of many trips aboard Katie Ann this year and what a great trip it was. The weather was surprisingly good considering the forecast, and Paul turned up trumps with his first chosen wreck. We were happy to stay on the same wreck all day with everyone catching fish. When we did eventually move it was to an inshore wreck where Paul gutted and filleted the fish.

Once again, thank you Paul for another excellent and enjoyable days fishing.

  • 02/2015 Fishing Report by Lyle Stantiford on Supanova II (Weymouth, Dorset)

    Feb 2015 by Lyle Stantiford

    Report on-board Supanova II

As the busy season is fast approaching now and Christmas all but a distant memory i am getting excited to see what 2015 has in store.

We have ventured out on a few Mid Channel wrecking trips of late with some decent results with fish up to high teens featuring on every trip with the average stamp 8-10lb.

The next couple of weeks will see the real opportunity of a 20lb Pollack for sure. I love the fishing this time of year, when you get the weather the days are lovely and most of the time not another boat in sight..

A few spaces coming up over the next couple of weeks so give me a call 07976876667 or drop me an email lyle@deepsea.co.uk

Thanks to all who have continued to come to Weymouth in these chilly times, keep on coming guys it's the place to be.

    Tight lines,

    Lyle
