Last weekend saw us venture offshore to go after the sporting Bass and from the 1st drift quality Bass came aboard in good numbers of which in line with current regs all bar 1 per person were returned. As the tide eased we moved inshore to target Trigger fish and as the day started we were immediately into them with the 1st being landed within 2 minutes of anchoring.

This week we landed our 1st Trigger fish of the season and it fell to young Charlotte who went on to land 2 more much to the annoyance of her father, the fishing has been steady with some good Rays and Tope caught when you can get to the banks. Plenty of Plaice and small bream are being caught along the beaches and in the swash channel. One big surprize whilst fishing the Poole Harbour entrance just 100m from the ferry Tom who was fishing for Plaice thought he had hooked the bottom until 'it moved' after struggling to move it on his light tackle an Undulate Ray of 16lb 6ozs came aboard. This is one of the biggest fish I have heard of being caught in the entrance for many years.

BOOK NOW FOR 2018
I have put up an Itinerary of trips for 2018 on all my web sites, take a LOOK, the itinerary is not set in stone so I may be able to change it to suit your needs subject to the tides.
As well as our single day trips we cater for groups and individuals wanting to take a multi - day angling holiday, below is a taster of what we can offer.
Weymouth Angling Breaks
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.
West Country Trips - "A Trip With a Difference"
Most of the West Country Trips that we do each year are of 4 & 5 days in duration, we will typically target a variety of marks including Wrecks, Reefs and Banks.
These trips will give you a taste of the deep sea fishing that is on offer in Dorset and Devon's coastal waters.
We cater for all groups, clubs and individuals but we do limit the numbers of anglers on these trips to a maximum of 9.

Poole July 2017 Report

The weather has seen some unseasonal highs and lows ranging from record high temperatures to excess rainfall and lightning storms which has affected the fishing dramatically. Mackeral were being caught in reasonable numbers have become very hard to find and we are having to rely on frozen baits as back up, at this time of year we should be catching enough to put some by for the winter months not draw down on our stocks. The wreck fishing has been very poor this month with a few Pollack being caught and hardly any Cod. Now the Bass ban has been lifted allowing an angler to retain 1 fish per day some very good Bass have been caught, Carl Hurren landed a PB Bass of 10lb 2ozs in the Swash Channel on very light spinning tackle whilst Plaice fishing. Ray fishing has continued to be excellent and working in conjunction with the Undulate Ray Project we are now seeing repeat landings of the same fish in the same areas. Further inshore and within the Harbour some very good Plaice fishing has been experienced with up to 50 in one session most are on the small side but for one angler from Romsey fishing on board Mistress Linda using a tiny bit of worm as small Bream were devastating the baits landed a Plaice of 4lb. Along the beaches there are lots of small Bream and Gurnards and as a bonus the 1st Trigger fish has been caught by Martin Bailey near Durley Chine weighing 3lb. One species for the boat this year was a fine Cuckoo Ray caught during a Lymington Club comp the fishing was very hard.
