Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, after a week of Equinox tides and strong Easterly winds that kept most of the fleet confined to Port the weekend broke on Saturday into a calm still day. After the early morning fog and mist came a bright sunny day and found us sitting on a reef mark in Poole Bay. Having stopped in the Entrance for Mackerel but landing only 'chequer' bass we moved on to our 'Mackerel mark' and despite my concerns landed enough Mackerel to use as fresh bait. Once on the mark my Anglers, using mainly hire rods, reels and the Skippers own made traces landed Conger Eel, Smoothounds, Small Eyed Ray, Channel Whiting and Pouting plus Gurnard. The day got brighter when despite a tangle of at least three lines local Beach Angler Jamie Richardson hooked and landed a magnificent 10lb 4oz Bass. More details on my Facebook page of 'Onamission Charters' later.

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
Sept has been a great month with lots of species and quality fish, several of our trips have been fishing along the piers which has produced good numbers of plaice, gurnards, small bream and the odd cod to 8lb further off to sea Ray's , congers and bull huss have been prolific and as a bonus we have also landed brill and turbot. Trigger fishing has slowed up towards the end of the month but did give some great days fishing. When the weather has been challenging we have reverted to the harbour which gives plenty of sport with wrasse, plaice, garfish, bass, bream and gurnards.

Last Friday the Police SAC fish their boat championship from Poole 16 boats and 120+ anglers took part, the Mistress Linda as reigning top boat had to pull out the stops against some very good boats and skippers to retain her crown which when the scores were in we achieved 1st 2nd and 4th place for the anglers. Now is the time to start thinking about the winter cod fishing so book early and get the best tides.
We are taking bookings for next year charter or individual so if you would like to join us next year please email me.
All the best

My most recent Wrecking Trip saw plenty of Cod caught along with Pollack, and two Bass.Without a doubt Pink Red Gills and Orange colored lures proved to be the best on the day. I have never seen Cod fishing on the wrecks this good in September before. Also some Ling were caught on baits during the slack tide.Pictured is Trevor Cozens with a 9Ib 8oz Cod.
LOOK - Here is a list of my remaining Wrecking Trips for 2015 with places available

Report on-board Just Mary
Hi All, we spent this weekend drifting 'along the front' from Southbourne down to between the Piers and landed some nice eating size Plaice plus others like Red and Tub Gurnard. Bait was rag and squid cocktail on flowing trace rigs, some with beads and/or spoons to 1/0 fine wire hooks. In these Equinox ('equi' meaning equal day and equal night) big Spring tides, the biggest being on Wednesday coming, the last day of September, and with a freshening North East to East to South East winds, we clearly made the right choice from the start.

With a boat crew of mainly Novices either with hire rods or borrowed rods everyone caught fish and most had something to take home for the table. Thanks, Malc. -

Well what a windy August/September it has proved to be!!
View Boats Page
Plenty of cancelled trips unfortunately but you can't fight mother nature.
When we have been out the inshore fishing at times has proved somewhat tricky, some very nice specimens just hard to find decent numbers of the bream that should be plentiful now. Some sessions are non stop with the bream and the very next day can prove very difficult.
Bass has been a little patchy but some lovely fish falling to live mackerel and large lures. The Turbot and Brill fishing has been steady when the tides are right with up to 15 fish a session which is a massive improvement on last year.
The reef and bank fishing at anchor has been fantastic with plenty of decent undulates, blondes, tope, conger, huss all proving great sport. A few competitions lately that saw some cracking fish boated with the WIBAC conger record being broken with a cracking fish of 86lb. The species hunt days threw up to 20+ different species per boat and the rays and flatfish day saw boats boating and returning up to 50 blonde rays.
The wrecking surprisingly for this time of year has continued to produce a decent run of Cod with the odd Bass thrown in for good measure.
The next month or so will see continued decent fishing for all inshore species with main focus on Bass, Bream and the imminent arrival of the Squid!!!!
Pictured is Keith Blanchard from Salisbury with a new PB Bream a cracker of 4lb 2oz.
Once again a massive thank you to you all who continue to support Weymouth, keeping us the number 1 port in the UK
Tight lines,
