The Bigger bass are plentiful during September/ October on local marks worm, squid or a live whiting bait should tempt 1 or 2 better ones!!
The big numbers of bass all shapes & sizes are further offshore now its great fishing but extra miles are needed for these trips &
worm bait is a must along with the lures too!
The Skate are moving back inshore & on local marks now ,if you like the Rays get your fish baits out!
Hounds are still about all over the places really no big girls but plenty of small to medium ones on the squid baits !
I won’t mention the COD fishing lol
I have loads of offshore Bass trips planned through September & October some availability remaining on a handful of October ones best to Contact me on 07523488290 for availability
Thanks everyone hopefully see you all aboard soonUPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD DAWN TIDE II

Fishing Report by Scott Belbin
on Galloper (Brightlingsea, Essex)
11 Sep 2022 by Scott Belbin
Report on-board Galloper
The wind has changed direction, the mercury has dropped and the heavy dew each morning suggest autumn is on its way. The fish don’t miss these signs either and so we have seen the numbers of thorn-back rays (roker) increase over the last few weeks. This is great news for our general trips and should keep us busy in between the dogfish and whiting when we are staying inshore. Ernie was better at catching the rays than he was at holding them but that’s what Dad’s are for. After all you don’t have a dog and bark! of course these trips continue to produce bass, smooth-hounds, baby tope and even a few dover sole and silver eels. Numbers of bass can vary depending on the tide, bait and where we can fish but if you really want bass then our offshore trips are the best bet. These continue to produce numbers of fish as well as quality both of which should improve over the coming weeks. We will try and make the most of these fish until the end of November when the 2 bass bag limit ends. Of course the weather can be less settled as we get later in the year but that’s where being on a big catamaran really pays off so we can fish when others can’t and be in more comfort too.

Fishing Report by Andy Savage
on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl
It's been a while since I've given an update on the fishing on Sea Urchin. There's a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, I've been away on holiday for a week with my family; but mainly the weather and fishing have been well below par. Whilst I love writing about the brilliant days, it's equally important to give a bit of balance. Not every trip is a red letter day. Quite frankly, some are an absolute grind when the fish aren't playing ball.
View Boats Page
Since the last catch report dated 25th August, we've only been to sea four times. On each occasion we've been out on the bigger tides above 5m. That's not to say we wouldn't catch fish, but the fishing conditions are more tricky on a bigger tides at this time of year.
(26th August) John Turnbull and a couple of friends took the boat for the day, which resulted in a few fish around slack water off the wrecks, but we couldn't find many fish on the rough ground. The best falling to Pete, with a Ling of 11lb 8oz. Bait fishing with fresh Mackerel caught the majority of the fish.
(27th & 28th August) The weekend saw rising tides well above 5m and the fishing remained difficult. In a similar pattern, the wrecks did a few fish during slack water, but there wasn't much taken off the rough ground.
Our last trip was yesterday (7th Sept) and once again it was a real battle to find some fish. The conditions in themselves weren't too bad, but with a drift speed around 2 knots in the morning, the lines were streaming. We found a few small Codling and one Ling around 5lb for Charlie Hewitt. The rough ground produced very little yet again.
During this time, the common theme has been that there is alot of natural feed in the water. It shows on the echo sounder and there are seals, whales, dolphins, porpoise, gannets etc all over the place. We were surrounded by over 50 seals yesterday afternoon on the 7 mile ground. I firmly believe that the fish have an all you can eat buffet at their disposal at the moment and don't really need the anglers baits.
This weekend, we're just coming into another set of near 6m Spring Tides, so I'm not going to punish myself or the inexperienced anglers who usually end up on these tides, by going out to sea. Hopefully towards the end of next week things will settle down and the neap tides will do us plenty of fish.
For anyone interested, I've now adjusted the November and December Booking Calendar on CBUK to show the days where we are planning to wreck fish and uptide. If you fancy a run out, just drop me a line.

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
We managed another day at sea yesterday with our mixed group of lads on a dodgy SE forecast.
View Boats Page
The day started slowish with just a bucket full of Mackerel for bait (they’re very hit and miss at present)
The last bit off ebb tide was running until slack at 10.0am so we dropped on a couple of wrecks to start the bottom fishing.
Regular angler with us, Paul Mawson from Bridlington, took 3 fish on 3 drifts on the first wreck and that was it!
Off to the next one where we picked another 4 or 5.
White fish appearing a little thin.
The breeze then lifted a bit from the ESE which actually paid dividends on the next 2 or 3 wrecks where, on the last one, we took around 25 fish from it.
Chris Siddle from just outside Hull took a couple of the better Codling boated and Ricky and Dean took a few Pollack between them along with Codling and Ling too.
All in all, at the end of the day, a great trip.
Cheers lads,
Rich 07733 233352

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
After a short break away with our lass last week we made back to sea again yesterday.
View Boats Page
We were fully booked for the day but with the weather forecast being a little 50/50 from the SE I gave 4 of the lads the option of travelling through or not. They decided not to bother. The other group of 6 were already staying in town so I said I’d turn out for them.
We sailed at 8.0am(the weather was fine) and played around on the more local marks, mainly wrecks.
A few mackerel for the bait stocks first and then a very short run to a tiny bit of scrap just 2.2 miles from shore.
A steady first couple of drfts with 4 or 5 each go, with a surprise Conga boated by Mo! Not your Conger Club class by any means at just 6lbs but still great to see for a change!
Down to the next wreck where we took just a couple more fish and as we ventured further South the water seemed to be getting murkier. After the swell that we’d had in the water for the last couple of days, it made sense, so an about turn we made.
Steaming back North a few of miles the water was clearing out again and the lads picked a nice few more fish up to end the day.
Ish from Australia clicked the biggest of the day, a nice Ling of 12lb 10oz and was over the moon and a nice sprinkling of Codling.
A great day with Zahim, Nabeel and the family,
Cheers lads
Rich.

Both inshore and on the wrecks we are catching Bass,Codling,Pollock,Hounds,Bream,Rays,Mackerel and many other species. Availability for September weekends is very limited but we still have spaces for midweek bookings, September has always been the best months for our inshore bass fishing and good for better fish off the wrecks. The weather may have broken at times lately but we have continued to get out amog the fish each day. some days we have had to work harder for the fish than others but still they keep coming aboard. We have seen a few thorn-back rays starting to feed again. These are promising signs for the next few months inshore. there have been a few hounds in places too. These are always welcome and sure to ‘pull your string’. The bass have been pretty obliging at times. From schoolies to 5lb they are all welcome and seem pretty hungry too. One of the biggest we have seen lately shook the hook 2 feet from the net the other day. it even had the audacity to sit on the surface taunting us for a few seconds before swimming off. Don’t worry John I will get a longer net handle for your next trip!

Using lots of worm bait for the bass has resulted in a few soles lately too. From various locations and purely as accidental bycatch but welcome all the same.
I gather the wind has meant several trips have been cancelled else where this week. Just a reminder that we have plenty of sheltered fishing in this area and working a big catamaran means we can often still fish in comfort when others are in port. I have individual spaces on Wednesday and Friday as well as boat availability Thursday if you are keen to get afloat.
We have continued to see smooth-hounds, baby tope and some chunky bass on our general trips as well as lots of schoolie bass at times. The offshore bass fishing continues to be productive too.
