Out offshore on wrecks Sunday plenty of pollock about up to 10lbs . Had to search a bit to get a wreck with larger ones on. Odd coalfish cod not arrived yet but will be on wrecks shortly . Good sport with pollock over - 150 caught and reasonable weather . Looking good for later in the season

A very quiet day today tried to get off but to rough to anchor so made the best of a bad thing and anchored inshore had a nice skate and a few small hounds then tide died. another belting day with lings to around 9lbs and cod to 8lbs, with practically non stop action all day
and all anglers taking a good bag of fish each home. and a fair few in the 4-6lbs bracket
prawns and squid being best baits . but all baits working

Up to date report nice to see start of smoothounds not in great numbers but that will come. Water temp still needs to climb bring more thornbacks closer in, noticed crab life on the bottom starting to be a nuisance so summers on its way. Plenty of spotty dogs of all sizes and still catching whiting! The wind has been bit testing as late so not really had a chance to nip out for bass but hopefully after next week we will get to have a go. We are out water 9th May to 13th may for usual maintenance antifoul etc so no trips next week still ring me will find you a vessel if i can. Tope trips are filling up dont lose out only got certain tides dont forget . Due to fuel hike now running at £60 a day per person everything supplied or trying to do shorter day midweek £45 to help out with those on a budget. It’s been a busy week of mixed fortunes on the fishing front. On Monday and Wednesday, using the tide we ran off to fish a couple wrecks down south.
Despite the wrecks marking plenty of fish, the rewards on board were not quite the same. On both days we picked off a few Codling to 5lb 8oz and then had to run back in and drift the rough ground to get a few more fish to take home. The rough ground certainly has plenty of smaller fish on it, which is great to see.
Yesterday we ran off North to look at a couple of wrecks in the 20 mile stream. We picked off a few Codling and Whiting, but nothing exceptional. It wasn’t until after dinner on the Ebb Tide, that we finally got amongst a few on the third wreck of the day. With Codling to 6lb and Ling to 9lb, it was 3-4 fish most drifts, which was a good reward for some great angling.
Hopefully the inshore wrecks will start to throw up a few more fish in the coming weeks. The Mackerel haven’t arrived yet, so Squid has accounted for 95% of the fish caught. Thanks to everyone for having a trip out with me this week, I really appreciate it. View Boats Page
