Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
The last few days has seen the weather turn from the hot Easter back to hat and gloves time but the fishing has remained good with plenty of Bream being landed and released, lots of mini species and a few rays mostly Undulates. Last week I did another barbless hook trial, landing 82 Bream whilst only loosing 2 during the fight , all were returned without touching the fish and one lucky fish who had another hook protruding from its mouth we removed that as well, it certainly did not stop him feeding.

What a brilliant bunch of lads I had on today and the fish showed up to play. Lee started the proceedings with his first Smoothound of 12.4 lb and followed it up with a 8 lb fish then we had a flurry of hounds for the next 3 hrs boating over 20 hounds in there 3 doubles. Then the tide blew us out and a quick move out of tide produced another 3 smaller hounds and 2 skate biggest going 9.5 lb another fish that Dave hadn't caught before all in all such a good day and banter can't wait to see you all again but the star of the show was young George who caught his first Smoothound and what a credit to his Mum and Dad he was a legend picking crabs for his Grandad and brothers then skippering the boat all way back to harbour and berth thank you George. Taking bookings Jason on 07966273650 or Dawn on 07854772314 f or single places for this Thursday 9th May

During the last week the Skate fishing has been truly amazing.

The best day was when Garry Streeter brought his lads up for just one day all the way from Swansea.
They caught a record breaking 37 Skate in one day with the biggest going 198lb, them lads worked there socks off well deserved!!
Biggest Skate this week was caught by Mark Granger with a cracking Skate of 213lb, his lads from South Wales landed 45 Skate over two days with the best day seeing 30 landed!!
Matthew Hart caught a cracking Skate of 210lb with his lads from London, Essex, South Wales, Bristol and Durham, they landed 53 Skate over two days with there best day seeing 28 landed.
I must say a massive thanks to the lads who have been willing to try for much bigger fish than Skate when we have had good weather.
Its only a matter of time before all the hard work pays off and the fishing in Scotland gets a very welcome surprise.
We have now caught a total of 518 Skate for the season so far with 41 over the magic 200lb mark!
To be honest I thought we would be lucky to catch more than 350 in the 3 months we are here, but we still have over a month to go so hopefully the fishing continues to be good.
Please note if you are booked on with us over the next month make sure you bring a minimum of 30kg of bait per day, or if you are booked as individuals you need a minimum of 5kg per day, we have had a few days where we have nearly ran out of bait!!
Sadly we are fully booked but if you want to get in on the action give Buoy Alba Charters a call on 07854 888293 and Davie will put you on the Skate.
