Report on-board Bad Boyz VI
Good to finish the week off strong with 9 Cod to the boat and a good few ray's!
View Boats Page
Quick chat to the lads and the decision was made to stay out an extra hour and watch the River Of Lights fireworks display, well worth it
Also pulled a couple extra cod!
The week rounded off with 46 Cod to the boat, approx 150 rays, Congers, Whiting, Dabs, Pouting and a few Doggies.
We take a 7 day break now as the tides are on the larger side, fingers crossed for colder weather and plenty of Cod when we return

Report on-board Dawn Venture
Finally managed to get out on the last sunday in October with Matt White and his boys and we had 11 species...we had Tope(23lb),spurdog(8lb),bullhuss(13lb)pollack and coalies from the harbour entrance(3.5lb),cod haddock, whiting, doggies, pouting and a very rare (and after much discussion!) a poor cod of 3oz! whiting were noticeable by their absence but those that landed whiting and fished them as flappers caught the better sharks. It is proven that whiting definitely outfishes mackerel for the bottom sharks and the common skate are quite partial to it also!

A date for the lift out at Girvan has yet to be agreed and so,the fishing continues with bookings being taken upto mid/late December providing the wind will let us! Looking at going uptiding for cod this year if anyone fancies their hand....some gear held onboard -

Good morning folks, the whitby sea anglers uptide festival is in full swing here at Whitby

The first couple of days of the festival have seen some bumper catches of cod aboard Mistress with us seeing around 90 cod for the boat each day, many bags over 30lb in weight, were also leading the competition with very nice fish just 1/2 an ounce short of double figures, and a best bag of over 50lb!
Crab cart has been the bait causing the most damage, but black lug and unwashed squid has also acounted for lots of fish.
We have a few spaces left next week

Thursday 15th 7 places
Friday 16th 8 places
Sunday 18th 2 places
If you fancy jumping on and trying for £1000

Fishing Report by Steve Harris

Report on-board Dentex lll
Thought I do a report on here just to let you know how the season went from April to October operating from Queenbourgh, Sheerness.
View Boats Page
It was a cracking season starting with some big numbers of Thornback Rays in April/May with some good ones to 16lb and plenty of low doubles with 50 plus fish landed on some trips was not uncommon.
At the end of May/June and through July was one of best Smoothound seasons we had regarding big hounds with plenty of fish 16 to 18lb on most trips with also lots of fish in the 9- 12lb bracket so some cracking sport on light gear.
In August/September and October we have seen some very good numbers of bass showing especially in October with some good days with fish between 4- 8lb with also the last of the hounds and rays still playing part.
We are waiting to see if the cod arrive now but until they do we are seeing plenty of channel whiting in the river and also rays starting show again in the Thames so on most days we can get a days fishing in even if the wind is blowing.
I do try to keep my calendar updated as regularly as i can but if you want a days fishing either a full party or an individual angler just give me a shout.
2019 diary is open but weekends are nearly all taken in the prime months but midweek we can help with.

A real family feel on the boat yesterday. Simon Blenkin, his sons Jorge and Jack and friend Terry joined us after we had cancelled them for poor weather the day before.
We started the day on the 7 mile ground where we had had a decent couple of days last week. Not so good to start the day with just a couple of cod landed. We ventured out to the 9 mile where the lads started to pick up a few more fish including 1 lonely mackerel!!
Best fish of the day caught by young Jorge (10) A lovely plump cod of 8 lb 1 oz. A very happy young man indeed!!
The lads finished the day with over 100 lb of fish between them so all in all a very enjoyable days sport.
Pictured inset, the lads with some of their spoils.
See you again soon lads.
Cheers
Rich

A couple of decent days aboard the Shy-Torque Thursday and Friday this week. The forecast not really good enough to run off any distance so we worked the ground and a couple of wrecks around the 7 - 9 mile areas.
On Thursday we couldn't catch a fish on the artificials and everything was boated on the bait. On Friday we saw the fish taking the shads and sidewinders again. Never 2 days alike!!
Both days we boated around 40 cod and a dozen or so ling.
My son Adam having a good catch himself with 14 cod to 9 lbs and a couple of ling on the Friday.
