    Report on-board Galloper

Yet again its been a while since my last report but as I’m sure many of you would have gathered by now there hasn’t been loads for us to shout about this cod season. Disregarding the cod (of which I have only seen 3 aboard my boat since September) there have been lots of fish about to keep the rod tips going. There have been vast numbers of hungry whiting about all autumn, many are the usual small fish but there have been a few better ones mixed in at times. Last week we had one at 44cms long which is quite big by our standards. There were good numbers of dogfish and thorn-back rays both in the blackwater estuary and further afield although most of these have dried up with the drop in water temperature of the last few weeks. At the moment our latest blessing has come in the form of the humble dab. After a drought for the last 10 years or so they have flooded back into the estuary over the last couple of weeks in higher numbers then ever. They make a nice change from whiting and the bigger ones can be good eating. We can only hope they hang around for the next few weeks to keep us occupied . I have plenty of space over the Christmas period if you fancy getting out as well as one or two offshore trips planned before hand. Report on-board Bad Boyz VI

So yesterday's trip ended fairly well, unfortunately the deeps didn't go to plan as we arrived 1:15hr before slack water only to find the tide had already turned so we only got a short period before it was to strong to fish.

    Species ended in -

Whiting, Dogs, Huss, Dabs, Pouting, Poorcod and Conger @14 1/2lb & 19lb

Fish coming to the boat throughout the day, fast action on the inshore mud banks although slightly slower on the rough ground areas.

Picture's will be up soon as I can

  • 06/12/2016 Fishing Report by Rich Cope on Mistress (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

6 Dec 2016 by Rich Cope

    Report on-board Mistress

The weather gods played ball with us this weekend here at Whitby allowing us to get a few days in.

The stamp fish remains good, with the Mistress anglers seeing fish just shy of double figures, but most in the 4-5lb bracket.

Crab cart remains the best bait to be using, either in a cocktail or on its own.

We have a spell of settled weather this week and we have spaces for anyone wanting to get to sea, either day or night I can put a trip together to suit you,

Give me a call or text on 07977 436903 if you fancy it, I'll need a minimum of 3 anglers to sail,

    Tight lines - Rich

Pictured is a festive looking Mistress regular Martin Hoole with two of his 8 Cod bag - biggest just shy of double figures
