on Brigand (Brighton, East Sussex)

Report on-board Brigand
After what seems like an age Brigand was back fishing yesterday & today..... At last!
View Boats Page
Yesterday had Adam and co. Aboard, tough day with the wind shifts from S to N in such quick succession but they toughed it out and we moved around quite a bit thoughout the day. No Cod but plenty of Plaice, Dabs and some sizeable Whiting. Not as good as we are used to but all boats were struggling in those conditions.
Today out with good friends so plenty of laughs and Bass, Plaice, Dabs & Whiting kept us busy on the rods
Jan & Feb dates loaded which will be peak Cod season so don't leave it until the last minute. If you have a date in mind give me a call and I will do my best to adjust calendar and fit you in.
Best wishes

Report on-board Girl Mandy
Here we go on putting to sea sat 5th Nov another charter boat called me up to complain about a big red beam trawler going up and down where he was fishing also where we were heading due to to bad weather, i already know of this clown he was shrimp fishing but at the same time killing lots of skate on trying to call the said vessel there was a radio silence on going through several other channels of which he should have been monitoring he still didnt answer not only was he working up where we were sheltering due to severe weather but failing to show what he was doing. We all have to work together in this river but it seams he could not give a toss the boats name is Seiont A run by the Barns family after failing to speak to me via the vhf we asked Vts London were they aware of the trawler they said no i then informed them of his details and also not transmitting a Ais signal i thought that was the point of monitoring our fish stocks not if they dont turn their systems on. Further to this instance i was informed i had been slagged off on farce book or some other such waste of space site where idiots put up remarks if you wish to slag me off do it over the radio or phone i dont hide myself behind stupid sites where people can slander other people off,and one remark made by his son was that i reported him to fisheries this is not the case it was port control who want to be aware of all traffic in the Thames if said vessel persists in slagging me off then i will take matters further

Hi
View Boats Page
We've finished for the season now and I'd like to thank everyone who supported us this year.
It wasn't a bad year although the weather was challenging a lot of the time and the Mackerel were not as good as I would have hoped. We had a lot excellent fish and some excitement with a shark. We also had a lot of good sausage and bacon butties!
We are now taking bookings for next year.
Kindest Regards
Pat -

Fishing Report by Kevin McKie
on Size Matters (Craobh Haven, Argyll & Bute)

Report on-board Size Matters
The last four day's on the Mersey have been very good, catching Thornback ray to 13lb 3oz, Conger to 13lb, Cod to 8lb 10oz, Whiting, Dogfish and Dabs.
View Boats Page
Our best day on the Cod was 37 keepers, the best day on the Ray's was 26.
Size Matters is starting to get a reputation on the Mersey for just how much deck space she has. One group of regular angler's have started bringing foldaway arm chairs with them and there is still bag's of room to walk about even with 12 anglers onboard. There is nothing worse than being packed on to a charter boat like sardines and trying to enjoy your day with not much room to move about. If you want an enjoyable day fishing on the Mersey in complete comfort then give me a call on 07999628511.
As you can tell we are getting lot's of bookings, here is a list of available dates.
Monday November 21st 5 places.
Thursday November 24th 2 places.
Monday December 5th 11 places.
Tuesday December 6th 5 places.
Wednesday December 7th 9 places.
Thursday December 8th 2 places.
Monday December 19th 9 places.
Thursday December 22nd 7 places.
Friday December 23rd 12 places.
Here is a list of available weekends before Size Matters goes back to Plymouth for the summer season.
Saturday December 24th 5 places.
Sunday February 5th 3 places.
Saturday February 18th 12 places.
Sunday February 19th 12 places.
Hope to see you onboard soon!!
Cheers

Fishing Report by Phil White
on Chinook 3 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)
10 Nov 2016 by Phil White
Report on-board Chinook 3
A fortnight can be a long time in fishing and when it looked like the cod were on their way it seems to have stalled. There are a few around but we are still waiting for the main run to start, the water temperature is still around 12-13 degrees and needs to fall further before the cod will come into the Estuaries.
View Boats Page
Inshore
There are good numbers of Thornbacks of all sizes showing, best baits are herring and mackerel but if you want to try for a cod then stick to lug and squid.
There are some cracking whiting starting to show with plenty of fish around 1 lb mark, best baits are lug, squid and mackerel.
There are a few codling along the shoreline at Jaywick and down to Walton pier, these codling will soon be joined by more fish as the water temperature drops, best baits are squid and lug.
The Rivers are fishing well for whiting, odd codling and thornbacks, these fish will stay in the rivers for a few more weeks.
Offshore
There are plenty of thornbacks of all sizes showing with some fish over 12 lb reported, these fish will stay with us most of the winter unless it gets really cold and then they will move further offshore and stop feeding.
There are odd better cod showing, plenty of whiting and a few dogfish.
Prospects are excellent, once the cod turn up in numbers they should be with us all winter.
