Saturday 11th Evening trip 4hr, I headed to a 5 mile wreck I know that fishers well at night and bang soon as the sun went down the cod and ling came out to play, With cod to lb and ling to 10lb with other good fish from 3lb 4lb 5lb 6lb coming in,

Retired Ex Skipper Mick Leonard decided to fish aboard Whitby's top charter boat Trot On on Friday and took 1st place in the 2015 W.C.S.A summer festival aboard TROT ON with a cracking ling of 24lb 2 oz. The fish fell to a simple 1 hook rig baited with a full squid. The cod fishing is top drawer at the moment with loads of coddling about and also some good ling to be caught.

Morning gents
lots of the dreaded green weed about at the moment but get on the edges of this and there are good rewards ,smoothounds averaging 10 lb and upwards coming to peelers n hermit some fair sized bass ,midweek dates available in July some weekends in august still up for grabs . View Boats Page

Hi mackerel still unreliable on some days. Tope now here although not the very big ones yet. Bull huss smoothhounds plentiful. Wrasse pollack on reef, although some bloom in the water on reefs effecting fishing. Cheers Roy

Just back from the Isle of Man after a three day trip. Good weekend's fishing with 17 species caught. Notable fish were a 12lb pollack and a 10lb cod. We also had plenty of coalfish to 5lb, a few ling, wrasse and a spurdog. The trip was hard fought at times with some windy periods but the lads were all rewarded with plenty of fish to take home for the table and a couple of good nights on the town in Douglas.

Today ended better better than if started the mackerel was hiding from us till mid morning few anglers went on to baited rings whilst a few carried on for bait hour or so later the mackerel came from no where thick and fast
after stocking up with some bait we headed further offshore to a decent mark

Waited inshore catching mackerel,dabs,whiting,Huss,gurnards and dogs until the wind eased and tide swung to make the sea state calm enough to get out to the marks producing. I think the lads will agree it was worth the wait.
