Report on-board Razorbill 3
With the weather forcast for gales all week Tuesday will be the only day we will get out, It was a bright sunny day with a strong S West breeze we were able to fish the river, The flood gave us some sport with about 12 CODLING up to 6lb and some large WHITING, A short move on the Ebb and as the tide picked up the fish started to bite, With another 16 COD up to 7 1/2 and more big WHITING it was a good day.

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
As the next competion here at Whitby gets closer ( 30th Nov - 6th Dec ) with some more great cash prizes on offer we are really hoping for some good sport for the inshore comp. Today we on the Shy-Torque had a good days sport fishing inshore at anchor with cod to 9lbs and ling to 8lbs. 4 lads had around 30 fish between them in total and lost nearly as many. Lets hope this fishing can keep going for the next few weeks.

Report on-board Razorbill 3
With the weather on Friday and Saturday too bad to go out it was left to Sunday to get out, The forcast was 5 to 7 South West going South east but as i turned up at the FREE car park (you don,t have to pay to park when you go fishing) the rain stopped and the sun started to shine what a change from Saturday, With only two anglers on the boat there would be plenty of room, AS i have said before we are very lucky with our river it holds a lot of good fish and with 14 COD up to 7lb and lots of Whiting we had plenty to do.

Report on-board Flamer IV
NOVEMBER 2009 - well the weather has been awful, wet and windy.I managed to get out for two days in a weather window before the next lot of gales moved in. The water was quite coloured which made the fishing on the drift hard going on the Shambles Bank but one Brill was caught.Anchoring the Adamant Bank proved a lot more fruitful with plenty of good size whiting being caught on hoki's baited with squid and mackerel strips. Also dogs, gurnards, pout, poor cod and the occassional jumbo mackerel were caught. Some congers were also taking the baits intended for the whiting but the lads rigs were not strong enoough to get the congers to the boat.Pictured are the sort of size whiting that were caught.

Well over the past week the fishing has improved with more and better size fish landed on the boat,CODLING from 2 1/2lb up to 11lb, We are still getting numbers of THORNBACK RAY with the largest i have landed on the boat a fine fish of 15lb, WHITINGS are more numerous with good size fish up to 2lb, DABS are starting show up in more numbers and we are still getting DOGFISH. I would expect the COD fishing to get better with more and better fish but i think the THORNBACK RAYS will start to thin out as we get into DECEMBER, We still have one or two dates free before Christmas for indeviduals/groups so give me a ring. You can see more at my web site.

Report on-board Galloper
the fishing has been good but patchy. yesterday we had a nice run of cod but were pestered by a seal. today we headed back to the same mark in the hope he had gone away. thankfully he had and once the tide was under way we saw some cod coming aboard. we totalled 11 cod and 7 roker. not a missive haul but they were quality fish. the biggest cod went 8.8lbs and a a couple of the roker were around the double figure mark. not bad fishing concidering the drop in the tides. when the sprats turn up the cod will pilke on the pounds so dont missout on decembers fishing. see our website for a weekly fishing update aswell as available dates.

OCTOBER 2009 - THE ROYAL HOTEL TOTTINGTON SAC - The club were due to do two days fishing with bream, bass, cod the target species. But the trip was cut short to one day beacause of the bad weather due on the Sunday. On the Saturday it was a bit choppy in the morning but the weather did improve as the day went on,the lull before the storm I guess.Well we targeted black bream and flatties and did very well.Plenty of black bream were caught with Geoff Hall catching a personal best weighing 4Ib.Two sessions on the Shambles Bank produced five turbot and two brill all on Ammo mackerel baits. Also two plaice were caught on the mussel beds with Garry Spencer catching the biggest one a fine plaice of 4Ib 8oz which was his personal best.Garry is pictured with his PB plaice.

The lads also caught other species including red and tub gurnards, dogfish, garfish, mackerel, pout, lesser weaver etc.The club were pleased with their days fishing on Flamer III and have booked up for three weekends in 2010. -
