Report on-board Size Matters
It’s been a real eye opener to witness the best Bass fishing I have ever seen in my life time, in just seven charters we have caught over 1100 Bass with the best day seeing 214 caught.
View Boats Page
They have not been big fish 2lb to 4lb 8oz and on some of the charters we have only had 3 to 6 hours fishing due to the weather conditions but it’s been well worth putting the effort in for fishing like this.
Massive thanks to all the anglers who have been onboard while Bass fishing with us, I know it’s hard for some anglers to only keep two Bass and put the rest back but that’s the rules until December 1st then it’s catch and release only!
The wrecking inside of 45 miles has been very poor but if you are prepared to put the miles in its very good fishing, catching lots of fat winter Pollack into double figures.
Here is a full list of the last remaining available dates onboard Size Matters sailing from Pwllheli North Wales before we head to Scotland to target Giant Skate in the new year.

Fishing Report by Andy Savage
on Sea Urchin IIl (Whitby, North Yorkshire)
24 Nov 2021 by Andy Savage
Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl
“Life is like a box of chocolates”……… After a less productive day yesterday, we were back in business again today. With an experienced group of anglers on board, I was hopeful of finding a few fish. If they were there and feeding, the boys were sure to catch a few.
View Boats Page
We ran back out to the wrecks, where we have found the average size of the fish has been much better than on the inshore marks. First stop was a wreck at 12 miles, which has been productive for us of late. The boys dropped the rigs over and seven of the ten anglers were playing fish at the same time on the first drift….how’s yer’ luck!!
After the initial carnage finished, we settled down for 3 hours of quality fishing. Most drifts saw between 3-5 fish landed, consisting of a handful of Ling up to 9lb, but mainly Codling in the 3-5lb bracket. Top rod for the day was Paul Mawson, who caught Codling consistently, including 2 double hook ups. His biggest fish was a beautifully clean 8lb cracker.
As usual, squid on a pennel arrangement with a muppet on top did the majority of the fish (especially the bigger specimens); but baited Hokkai’s still caught a fair few. We did move inside to some other wrecks to pick off a few more Codling, but the strengthening wind stopped us from travelling further out. We’ll keep those wrecks in the bank for the next break in the weather.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day spent in great company, with great banter. Thanks boys.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl

Fishing Report by John Peck

Report on-board Lady Margaret
The fishing during October has been very good.
View Boats Page
We have mainly been doing bass and plaice drifting trips and have been catching in good numbers.
In particular, there are lots of hard fighting middleweight bass around. We haven't had any more double figure fish on board this month but have had some nice thick set fish to just under 9lb.
There are lots of bait fish in the water both mackerel and scad and this has brought some large predators in. We saw a tuna jumping out in the bay.
The anchored fishing has been producing lots of congers mainly small and some nice rays. -

Report on-board Sea Urchin IIl
Plenty of space on deck today, with only six anglers on. The weather conditions were far from ideal and not exactly as forecasted (no change there then!).

We went off to fish on the wrecks, using the tide to head down past Robin Hoods Bay. The first wreck produced a couple of Codling and a couple of Coalie’s, but we moved on to try and find more consistent action. As it turned out, none of the wrecks produced a bumper crop today, with only one Ling caught all day just into double figures and Codling up to 6lb 8oz, plus the usual Whiting and Pouting.
Squid on Pennel set up’s with an orange muppet did the lion share of the fish, but baited Hokkai’s did pinch a few. It was difficult presenting the bait today, and keeping it static long enough for the fish to find it was key. Not every session can be a red letter day, but the lads on board stuck to the task at hand. Thanks for coming lads, much appreciated. See you next time.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Sea Urchin IIl

Fishing Report by Barry Cox

Report on-board Lillie May
REPORT FOR BBCSSAC TRIP 20TH SEPTEMBER 2021:
View Boats Page
Bait ordered in advance from Seaton Tackle Shop at £5 per quarter for Rag Worm. Worm in excellent condition dug from Poole with farmed worm.
All anglers arrived at Beer in good time, met by parking attendant and paid the £5 all day fee and boarded boat and set off by 0800hrs in glorious sunshine, mist and light Northerly winds. Stopped once on way to fishing mark to feather for mackerel with no fish caught... decided to cut the feathering short to get to the reef.
Fishing was patchy to start with but with decent sized Black Bream coming to the boat. Dave had the best Black Bream early on with a 2lb 10oz fish.
Lots of small bites but not the ‘plague’ of scad and dogfish we had last year. Fishing down to Low Tide at 11:49 produced a constant fish count with good sized Black Bream and sizeable Mackerel.
Several Conger Eels were brought to the side of the boat for release estimated at 5 to 7lb.
The highlight of the day was a new Club Record for Guy, a Red Mullet at 1lb 9oz, 0.7087kg, it is a 104% record for the Angling Trust Area C Boat Specimen Weight which is 0.68kg.
As the tide picked up after midday the bites increased with in size Black Bream coming to the boat in a steady pattern.
Paul gutted everyone’s catch before heading back in shore. An excellent day’s fishing, perfect weather, great company and fish for the pot.
David’s Black Bream was 74.9% specimen weight. Guy landed a good sized gull which after a good sized peck was released.
As the Boat Competition for 2021 has been postponed due to the impact of COVID-19 no total weights have been recorded.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Lillie May

managed to squeeze a day out sat during all this relentless poor windy weather. and our first go at
this winters anchor fishing, first stop 3 or 4 canny fish landed in the first 5- 10 minutes looks promising
actually went slow with only a couple more fish taken
up anchor and moved anchor hadnt even got a full hold when 2 lads were bringing fish over the gunnels nice
and was hectic fishing for the next 1 1/2 hours with plenty keepers and a good few pouting etc
coming in eventually slowing down but fish still coming in.
by now everbody had about 5-6 fish each or more to keep
one more final move a few fish straight off again then odd ones
time for home anyway nothing bigger than about 4-5lbs but considering it was fairly windy day but excellent
at anchor just nice to get out again
lug and squid probaly best baits -
