Another great day aboard Lady Ann went hunting for some Spurs but no joy, but plenty of Skate to keep us going and the usual Whiting and Dogfish. Thank you Bison and Co for a great day and a good crack.

My first trip out for over three weeks due to all the storms we have been having, with some regular customers and out of interest on the day the average was 66.5. We anchored on a Bank which produced nine species which included numerous Spurdogs, Small Eyed Rays,Congers,Smooth Hounds along with Undulate Ray,Turbot, Whiting,Pout,Dogfish. Squid and Mackerel baits proved to be the best. Pictured is IanYoungs with his lively 17Ib Spurdog.

19.03.2019.
A short run offshore with today's 4 lads proved fruitless with the water being very cloudy after the last run of huge Northerly swell. We decided to run back inshore and drop the anchor where the lads picked up a nice few Codling mixed with Dogs, Whiting and Pouting.
An enjoyable few hours uptiding with the lads all going home with a nice "fry" for the table.
We have room for 1 more angler on tomorrows trip which will be to the "Wall"
Fridays trip will be at anchor again on the 6.0m tide !!

1st day back at sea after the recent bad weather, finished up with 30-40 keepers between 3 of us, plus the usual pouting, whiting and dogs.
Best angler kept 13 with a couple of chuck backs.
Best bait was squid and blacks.

Plenty of large thornbacks showing on the Goodwins with fish onboard of 15lb 2oz, 14lb 4oz, 14lb, 13lb 7oz, 13lb 3oz, 12lb 9oz, 12lb 6oz on yesterday's trip, all falling to fresh herring baits. Bass will also be our target next week, as the bass ban ends 1st April. Remember we are a full time charterboat and as long as we have 3 or more angler's onboard, we sail. Well the welsh boys have smashed it over the last two days, 25 Skate to 211lb, with a total weight of 4323lb!!!
On the first day the lads landed 14 Skate in just 8 hours and set a new record for
Size Matters.
Top three anglers where,
John Frayne he had the biggest skate of 211lb followed by skate of 211lb again, 207lb, 180lb, 119lb, 85lb.
Aled Nicolas had skate of 204lb, 199lb, 193lb, 193lb, 193lb.
Scott Browz had skate of 199lb, 188lb, 185lb, 168lb, 164lb.
As you can see the skate fishing is on fire at the moment.
