It was lovely seeing the Elliston family for their first trip of the year. We had a short evening trip and caught loads of fish. Of course dogfish made up most of the catch along with 6 thornback rays and a few small hounds. I have availability for 4 hour trips and full day trips over the coming weeks so please get in touch for more information.

In March we saw the arrival of some early smoothounds and bass aboard BRAVEHEARTII and everyone knows how much I like these hard fighting fish. As we have progressed into april
The wind had been relentless, but when we have been able to get out to our chosen marks the fishing has been generally good. We've had smoothounds up to 13lb so far and bass to over 6lb & the bigger ones normally follow at the end of April and beginning of may.
Thornback rays have been on the increase too which is a great sign and when located can provide excellent sport
On the days of smaller tides, the anglers have scaled down the tackle for species hunting which include, bass,smoothounds, lesser spotted dogfish, dabs
Thornback rays, whiting, eels and flounders. These days can be great fun and a good bit of friendly competition amoungst the anglers. I'm really looking forward to the summer and meeting anglers old and new.

The bass are in! Last week on these spring tides the bass have been feeding heavily on the fresh crab. Bass to 9.5lb; hounds to 16lb and rays and to 20lb. Steve had a nice mixed bag aboard Galloper the other day. Hounds, roker and bass not to mention the occasional dogfish as well! He was really hoping for that bass and was relieved when this one hit the net after loosing one on the previous cast! There's certainly plenty of life out there at the moment and things look promising for the summer ahead.

With some lovely weather it was nice to see a mixed bag including hounds, bass, a codling, thornback, whiting dogfish and dabs the other day. This time of year is usually pretty good for variety. Both the weather and the fishing should continue to improve over the coming weeks too. Even when the weather doesn't play ball we have some great sheltered marks that are producing good fish as well.

The lads from Suffolk police had another busy day aboard the Galloper with a great mixed bag of rays, smooth hounds and bass between the abundant dogfish and whiting. Between 7 anglers they had around 600 fish! I have spaces for individuals and boat bookings for inshore and offshore trips over the coming weeks.
