With big tides running we headed north to the shallower waters of Corton, expecting lots of weed and difficult fishing. We couldn't have been more wrong within seconds of the baits hitting the bottom the fish started coming which continued throughout the day with a constant stream of doggies and well over 100 good sized whiting 3 nice smoothounds to 5lb and 2 codling hopefully this is a sign of things to come as the weather gets colder -

Size Matters will be back in Liverpool from October 20th and this winter we are busier than ever. We have over 70 days booked for the winter season so far, let’s hope it’s as good as last year. Charters on the Mersey cost £45 per person and most charters are 10 hours depending on the lock times. All tackle is included and hot drinks, if you lose any rigs or leads we don’t charge you. Report on-board Flamer IV
Peter Gillett and friends who had their orginal angling break blown out in June re scheduled for October and despite at times dealing with breezy conditions fished all 5 days catching 23 different species. David Barton caught 19 different species and won the friendly/competitive competition with 516 points, Runner up was Lee Page with 416 points.Peter Gillett and David Barton both had Hat Tricks of Turbot and Brill respectfully during a drifting session on a bank.Twice during the week Peter Gillett and Russell Latimer had un stoppable runs from which must have been Porbeagle Sharks. There was also some big rays lost as well. With all this going on it only added to the banter and Mickey taking that went on all week with every one enjoying thems selves. The lads have booked up their Angling Break for 2018.David Barton is pictured with his 17Ib 8oz Blonde Ray which he caught while drifting a bank.

Weymouth Angling Breaks - Book Now, Don't miss Out,*** NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR 2018 ***
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting. -

Report on-board Wave Dancer
Today's trip was a bit touch and go with the high winds but they stayed low enough for us to go out again today.

We headed out of the river and started really slowly compared to yesterday's trip. As usual we started getting doggies galore, tope pups,a solitary mackerel, rays, tub gurnard, really good sized plaice, and dabs. Mother Nature then decided we should move bringing much higher seas and swell. A move was decided so into the river we headed for some shelter. Doggies in the river followed by decent whiting and 5-9lb rays and the biggest flounder I have seen on wave Dancer. The piece des resistance a really good 4.5lb cod. Fish of the day was another 9lb thornback ray.
Winter cod weekday 8 hour fishing trips £300 to charter the boat we take up to 10 anglers (£30 pp if full). Trips include rod, tackle, tea, coffee, and lunch or breakfast. -
