    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    Hi all,

Some steady fishing whilst the weather has been holding up for us. The best day we have seen this last week or so was on a trip out to the "Wall" where the lads managed around 70 fish in total.

The water is still clearing out nicely now, both inshore and offshore and the algae seems to be waning at last.

A good number of mackerel have also been caught in the last few trips giving us some prime fresh bait for the rigs.

No massive fish to report this last few trips but some lovely quality fish for the table.

Regular angler on the Shy-Torque Bill Barraclough from Barnsley is pictured with a lovely prime Whitby cod just over 9lbs.

    Cheers
    Rich.

    Report on-board Wild Frontier 2

    **Channel Island Season is here**

A typical trip to the Channel Islands will be 4 or 5 days long. We leave Weymouth and head to the wrecks in the Channel. Evenings are spent ashore in the great little bars and restaurants of the island and crashing out in an island B+B - although great self catering options are available. Depending on the time of year, we explore the grounds around Alderney and Guernsey during the days.

All fish is kept fresh and in great condition on ice in our purpose built fish hold. We skilfully fillet all catch for table on the journey home to Weymouth.

We have availability for our September trip - the 11th to the 14th inclusive and would love to welcome you!

Hi out today the mackerel are in with large amounts of large ones good eating usual pollack on reefs Tope fishing a bit slow at the moment but plenty of large Huss . The Tope should be off Amlwch in force the next few days following the mackerel .at Amlwch we get the Tope very close in so windy weather still gives you a good chance of catching them. Check our prices a lot cheaper than any where else in Wales and a bigger boat more room for you cheers Roy

    Report on-board My Way 2

Police v Fire Service match angling

Normally two or more boats are involved, for 2017 the event was brought to Holyhead and hosted by us with the Police National Boat Angling team.

For the practise day, we had the Police team with us hoping to glean information to overturn a run of 4 defeats against the Fire Service. Fishing was consistent throughout the day, pollack and wrasse on the drift, with dogs, whiting, dabs, Huss and others at anchor. No world beaters, but great fodder for a match angler, single, double and triple shots of fish being landed.

Many rig and bait changes throughout the day as they honed in their tactics ready for the challenge of the Fire Service team.

Fortunately the practise was a success and during the event itself, the Police team used the information learned the previous day well as they romped to a 300point win over the Fire Service guys.

    Report on-board High Flyer 2

Bringing us up to date fishing has vastly improved the skate seem to be about not in great numbers but enough. Well done to all my anglers for returning them think weve kept 2 in total also the smoothounds. Picture today is Dave Jones with our boat record smoothound of 15lb well deserved as Dave is one of our most regular anglers who has supported the High Flyer through all seasons it couldnt have gone to a more deserving person. Well done mate. No mackerel yet on the feathers or tope still bit early but we will keep after them concentrating on the smoothounds crab being most effective bait at the moment. Spotty diogs a pain at the moment still catching some large whiting inshore another pain but adds to the sport. As we head into mid to late June will be out on the banks then ready for few bass July 1st when we will start fishing for them. Night trips will be organised soon bit blowy this coming week will keep eye on weather for that. Dates filling up at weekends so get in for summer trips now or they will be gone midweek generally ok. So roll on warmer weather clearer water polish those pirks wont be long. Until then tight lines everyone. Jon (High Flyer)

  • 06/2017 Fishing Report by Jack Thomas on Incentive (Colwyn Bay, Conwy)

    Jun 2017 by Jack Thomas

    Report on-board Incentive

Fished the wrecks yesterday with pollack up to 5lb and a good amount of coalies. It wasnt amazing but the weather played against us at times and everyone went home with a feed of fish. Today we stayed close inshore and had mackerel, whiting, huss, scad, dogs, pollack, ray, and lost a good tope due to a tangle of lines. So the tope are running inshore now. Get in touch to book a trip.
