Fishing Report by Philip Higgins
on Mistress Linda / San Gina3 (Poole, Dorset)
14 May 2017 by Philip Higgins
Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
The new gearboxes arrived and have been installed so off fishing we went, the weather for the weekend seemed to favour Bream fishing which from the moment we dropped anchor produced good sized bream with several double shots and a few Pollack as a bonus. Once again Steve and his crew returned over 90% of the catch demonstrating a good conservation minded approach to angling. Sunday saw much the same in the morning with plenty of bream being landed and again returned but the weather in the afternoon caused the boat to swing around too much and much tackle was donated to the seabed so we had a short time Plaice fishing which resulted in far too much seaweed coming aboard, now plan C came into affect fishing the bank at the end of the Swash Channel for rays and Hounds of which we were successful in both not big fish but good fun on spinning rods.

Plenty of spaces available to enjoy some good Bream fishing so please call and enjoy a day out.

Report on-board SWN Y MOR
Out again today weather still very windy but again the high cliffs off Amlwch give you good shelter in high south to southwest winds enabling you to fish in deep water 150 feet where most species are. Cancelations in these winds are rare so you will get out often at a reduced rate so everybody is happy. Please ring if you are cancelled elsewhere or book a trip either wrecking or ground fishing on a very large comfortable 40 foot aqua star loads of room. The wrecks are now producing fish

Fishing Report by Les Jones
on White Maiden II (Lymington, Hampshire)
14 May 2017 by Les Jones
Report on-board White Maiden II
Three days of wind, rain and sunshine. It's still spring and the inshore fishing is waking up slowly as our sea temperatures begin to rise. Below is Paul from yesterdays trip with a cracking Black Bream of 4lb 4ozs that came along very early in the tide. The big Bream was spent and completely empty. The day was breezy and a bit lumpy with very few other boats deciding to go but the experienced Hopp Inn lads fished well for the best Black Bream of the season so far. Other catches were more Black Bream, a 4lb Bull Huss, Wrasse, Dogs and Pout.

On Saturday a crew of marine biologists really enjoyed their day despite the wet start and then breezy conditions, all fished in comfortable inshore waters to catch some good fish. Nick started with a well marked Undulate Ray at 9lb 8oz. We tested for mackerel and caught Garfish. In the afternoon we found Smoothounds feeding well in the ebb. Nick below caught a nice double before being upstaged by Matt with his cracking 14lb'er. All fish were returned to fight againUPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD White Maiden II

Fishing Report by Gethyn Owen
on My Way 2 (Holyhead, Isle of Anglesey)
12 May 2017 by Gethyn Owen
Report on-board My Way 2
Had a day on the boat myself on Friday 12th May. Bit of a spring clean in the morning, tidying up the cabin, that looked like a battlezone following a few great weeks of angling. The weather was fine though, so it called for a spot of relaxation and fishing. A few hours afloat with friend Keith was called for, nothing too hectic, just a spot of smoothie fishing.

We’ve had a few hounds already this month, but it is this weekend that I class as the traditional start to our hounding season. We weren’t disappointed. I wouldn’t say it was hectic at all, slow in many parts, but we did land a good few between us. However the weather was calm, we ate like kings and put the world to rights with a few laughs along the way.
Keith was the first to catch using a Shakespeare Agility Sea Tipster with Penn SSV 5500 fixed spool reel, the same combo available daily as a prize during our smoothhound challenge. His first hound of 2017, estimated at 14lb and a great start to our fishing.
Another reason for wanting to get afloat was to take a look at the Penn Rampage 9ft Bass Spin rod. I ordered a couple from our sponsors Pure Fishing, specifically for the smoothhound sport that we get from Holyhead. The rod, rated 15 – 55gram is as described a Bass rod, but handled correctly had the potential to offer some superb action for anglers aboard My Way. Taken from the Penn website … They sport a progressive semi-fast taper action, but with a stiff butt to provide long range casting performance with lighter lures. Fitted with Fuji rings and an aluminum reel seat.
I partnered the rod with another Penn, this time a Battle 4000 small fixed spool. It took a couple hours before this rod had an enquiry from a hound, but the reel and particularly the rod performed superbly well. Initially the reel was set with a fairly light drag, allowing me to get used to the rod with a small, but still hard fighting smoothhound on the end.
Managed to land another small hound on the rod later in the day, but still no double, sure that will come over the next 6 weeks.

Fishing Report by Colin Penny
on Flamer IV (Weymouth, Dorset)

Report on-board Flamer IV
The latest Reef/Bank trip provided some good sport with Bull huss,Conger, Tope, Smooth hounds, Undulate, Thornback and Spotted Rays being caught along with the usual Dogfish and Pouts. John Billett did particularly well catching a 14Ib Bull Huss and a 25Ib 1oz Tope which gave him a tug on his tackle and poor old John broke his rod in the process of landing the Tope, how ever John did win a Flamer IV catch of the day trophy for his efforts. John is pictured with his Tope.

Fishing Report by TERRY BATT

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
We had a great day on Friday 12th May with our very dear friends
View Boats Page
Nigel Farage, Dave Barham , John Rawle, Nicola, and myself Terry Batt, on board our super charter boat Vanishing Point-2.
we were fishing for Thornback Rays and general fishing and had the most wonderful day.... with up to 50 Rays caught and most returned, we were mainly fishing for sport, good mates enjoying a day off from the hustle and bustle of every day life “especially” poor old Nigel... the paparazzi cant get to him out at sea...!! so a lovely day was had by all..!! the talk was of cricket, football, boxing, fishing , and general day to day ordinary chit chat no politics a day off......
At slack water we all had a go at shooting some clay's and Nigel was pretty good..!! John couldn't get used to my Berretta , but Dave Barham shot out of his skin hardly missing a clay ( crafty dog) but I don't wish to brag I didn't miss a single clay...!! so Dave and I have a grudge match....lol
After the days fishing and shooting we retired to the Green Man Pub just around the corner from Bradwell Marina, courtesy of Arthur T who owns the marina and a great supporter of
Nigel Farage, and we thank Arthur for arranging Michael to receive us out of normal hours...! but Michael does get something out of it for himself and notoriety for his pub....
(you owe me a pint....lol) but we would like to thank all the staff at the green man which include Vicky the best barmaid in Essex..! who treats everyone the same no special favours, and Nigel loved it... just one of the guys..!!..
Well next time we have Nigel down with us it is quite possible he may be "accompanied” by his good friend and comedian
Jim Davidson ... not definite but possible ..! so we will have to see where we go for after the trip drinks on that day... ????
I would like to thank John Rawle for basically running the trip, expert as ever at the helm and his expert advice on baiting and casting which Nigel found very helpful and rewarding..!!, and also to Bob Cox who sadly couldn't make the trip on Friday but did join us in the Green Man for a drink, so nice to see the legendary Cox & Rawle among our other guest,
Nigel Farage, and Dave Barham, sitting at one table, I felt most privileged to be sitting at the table with my wife Nicola and able to call all of these people my friends ..... it don't get much better.
If any of you fancy a days fishing and Clay Pigeon shooting as do our Celebrities please call on...... 07768 30 66 46 to make a booking makes for a great corporate day out and team building event.... 100% tax deductible...!!!
All the best
