    Weymouth Angling Breaks -
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.

    Report on-board Just Mary

A busy week of trips now that the Sun has finally appeared. Police from Winton enjoyed a weekday trip onboard 'Just Mary' from Poole and the lads and lasses all caught fish to take home and eat. Bream the next day for Cyprus Tony and friends with female fish on the 'Mecca' still full of roe.....in Mid July ! Some Chinese youngsters, lads and lasses, enjoyed a lovely day afloat and all caught edible fish to take back to Bristol. My regulars and guests on Sunday found themselves three miles South of the Jurassic Coast fighting the tide and the Tope and the Eels, pics on this site and FB page.....lovely day in good company. And last but not least four hire rods caught, Mackerel, Scad, Red and Tub Gurnards, a Bass, Dogfish, Smoothounds and a decent Undulate just off the beaches in Bournemouth.....rest now before we go again, ta Malc.....

  • 07/2016 Fishing Report by Pat Jones on Kerrykim (Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey)

    Jul 2016 by Pat Jones

    Report on-board Kerrykim

    NEW PHOTO UPLOADED!
Had a good day on the tope with numbers well into double figures. The biggest was 45lb and it gave a big surprise. Halfway to the surface the fish got a new lease of life and darted off at a rate of knots. It took quite a while to get it back under control and when it surfaced after a mighty tussle we saw the teeth marks on its flanks. It had been taken by a shark on it's way up! I've put a photo up on the site and am waiting for a better one from one of the anglers present. The teeth marks are about 9 or 10 inches across and seem to be only the front of the jaws. I am assuming it was a porbeagle but I couldn't swear to it. In nearly 40 years as a charter skipper I've never seen anything like that. I've seen pollock bitten up but not a 45lb tope. What an amazing day.
I should like to reassure any people who may be disturbed by this picture, that sharks only ever attack you when you are wet.
    Regards
    Pat

  • 07/2016 Fishing Report by Simon Fisher on Just Fishing (Brixham, Devon)

    Jul 2016 by Simon Fisher

    Report on-board Just Fishing

This weekend gone saw "Just Fishing" of Brixham hitting the deeps in search for hard fighting Ling.( A personal favourite of mine)
The Weather was great, the tides were great but were the fish playing ball?
For the first drifts we used lures as there was a bit of tide running and it wasn't long until the first rod was bent over, however as the fish surfaced it was a small Conger which was a surprise as it had taken a white and blue Sidewinder..
The first hour or so wasn't very productive with just some small Pollock and Pout taking the lures, there was plenty of sign on the wreck so Simon the Skipper tried a
mackerel flapper and Landed the first Ling of the day, after that the Ling were clearly on the feed and they were coming onboard along with the odd Conger.
After a couple of hours and Ling up to 22lb the fishing tailed off and a move to another Wreck was on the cards and with the tide starting to run again it was back to lures. The first drift on the this wreck produced some Pollock and the best Ling of the day a stonking 28lber caught by Eddy on an all orange Sidewinder.
All in all a great days Fishing and a fantastic bunch of Lads onboard.
