Back at it yesterday a break in very blustery weather and lads once again got right amoung the cod over 100 on boat yesterday non stop action some very good fishing indeed and some very happy customers out on thursday if anybody fancys wetting a line .

Top class fishing today with plenty of Whiting along with 8 Skate to Richards group from Maidstone Kent. Herring being the top bait. The Cod are here but feasting on the herring that are everywhere for now. They should be thinning out soon so we will get more Cod as they return to more bottom feeding, fingers crossed we don't get too much spratt this winter. Plenty of space available in the new year for groups or individuals so give me a call. Pic shows Darrens best Skate of the day just short of 10lb

Congratulations to John Collings who has won Sea Angler magazine Boat Winner Fish of the Month with his 19Ib Undulate Ray. John wins a Beatmaster AX Boat slim rod and a Tekota 500LCM multiplier reel. John is pictured with his winning 19Ib Undulate Ray.

Hi a merry Christmas and a happy new year to all anglers. 2015 has been a difficult year for offshore fishing but when weather suitable large catches of good pollack coalfish and cod.but inshore fishing for most species has provided good sport the mackerel being quite prolific off Amlwch for the season.thanks for supporting aqua star off Amlwch I try to keep prices reasonable enabling you to enjoy the fishing from here. Not much to report this month,like most boats we have been kept in port a lot with the constant storms.On the odd days we have been out the fishing has been a bit slower on the cod front with vast shoals of herring keeping the fish preoccupied,but we have found a few along with several thornback Rays and numerous whiting and dogfish,hopefully the weather will settle down soon and allow us to look offshore for some better fishing.

Cod fishing on the Mersey over the last six days has been hard going at times to say the least. This must be due to the unusual warm temperatures for this time of year and all the rain water we are getting.
We still managed a few nice fish,
Cod to 8lb 8oz, Thornback rays to 8lb, loads of Whiting to 2lb and Dabs. Things can only get better as they say!
