    Report on-board Supanova II

Well what a windy August/September it has proved to be!!

Plenty of cancelled trips unfortunately but you can't fight mother nature.

When we have been out the inshore fishing at times has proved somewhat tricky, some very nice specimens just hard to find decent numbers of the bream that should be plentiful now. Some sessions are non stop with the bream and the very next day can prove very difficult.

Bass has been a little patchy but some lovely fish falling to live mackerel and large lures. The Turbot and Brill fishing has been steady when the tides are right with up to 15 fish a session which is a massive improvement on last year.

The reef and bank fishing at anchor has been fantastic with plenty of decent undulates, blondes, tope, conger, huss all proving great sport. A few competitions lately that saw some cracking fish boated with the WIBAC conger record being broken with a cracking fish of 86lb. The species hunt days threw up to 20+ different species per boat and the rays and flatfish day saw boats boating and returning up to 50 blonde rays.

The wrecking surprisingly for this time of year has continued to produce a decent run of Cod with the odd Bass thrown in for good measure.

The next month or so will see continued decent fishing for all inshore species with main focus on Bass, Bream and the imminent arrival of the Squid!!!!

Pictured is Keith Blanchard from Salisbury with a new PB Bream a cracker of 4lb 2oz.

Once again a massive thank you to you all who continue to support Weymouth, keeping us the number 1 port in the UK

    Tight lines,

    Lyle

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

Well first charter out the way today, big tides, 21 mph Easterly it was not our finest hour I am sad to report....We had a few Ray's this morning, Doggies by the bucket, and some Whiting, but sadly we didn't see any Codling, we tried hard but it sounded like most boats struggled and it wasn't just us, but still a hard pill to swallow when we normally do so well, but I think I should report bad days as well as the good ones, fortunately we don't have to many bad days..... sorry guys I did my best but cant control the weather...!! Tight lines..!!!!

  • 27/09/2015 Fishing Report by Rich Ward on Shy-Torque III (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

27 Sep 2015 by Rich Ward

    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    27.09.15.

Alan Yates from Driffield, East Yorkshire and his family and friends joined the boat today .

The fishing wasn't a patch on yesterdays efforts numbers wise but we certainly had some better quality fish.

One of the first fish on board was a Ling just shy of 19lbs which fell to Richard which was a personal best for him. Well done mate.

The next top quality fish was a cracking Pollock of 12lbs caught by Ken, but the finest fish on board was undoubtedly a Tub Gurnard whcih was caught by Alan's Niece, Ellie.

Her cracking specimen was 3lbs 8oz and is a personal best for her and also the boat. We just don't see Gurnard of that quality here at Whitby so a massive well done to her too!!

A very happy Ellie is pictured.

  • 26/09/2015 Fishing Report by Rich Ward on Shy-Torque III (Whitby, North Yorkshire)

26 Sep 2015 by Rich Ward

    Report on-board Shy-Torque III

    26.09.15
An astonishing amount of cod out on the 20 mile stream just recently.

Three of our favourite wrecks producing very well indeed. An abundance of sprats keeping the fishing going here for the lads.

Dave Coxhill and his mates from Manchester were among the mixed group today. Dave and his 3 pals landed 94 cod between them which was very impressive indeed. The rest of the crew averaging around 15 to 20 fish each. But the star of today's show was undoubtedly a regular to the boat, Steve Bulliment from Market Weighton, East Yorks.

Steve managed an amazing 50 cod himself for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A personal record for him. Well done mate.

    Steve is picture.

  • 26/09/2015 Fishing Report by Allan Skinner on JFK TWO (Tyne, Tyne and Wear)

26 Sep 2015 by Allan Skinner

    Report on-board JFK TWO

    sat 26th sept
another canny day. September has always been the month of big lings, and with plenty of mackerels still available in big numbers for bait, again off looking for lings.
surprisingly little drift over the wrecks for such a big tide. this proved ideal for the lings, with up to 4 or 5 lings a drift coming over the gunnel, mostly 5-6 lbs lings and the occasional 10-12lbs lings thrown in,
steadily working are way offshore every wreck producing fish,
not so many cod a few to 8lbs but more Pollack 5-8lbs than cod.
the ling also getting better up to 13 lbs
next wreck producing even better lings graham with a nice 17.5lbs and jimmy 19.5lbs ling
with over 60 fish taken. a lovely day for late sept

  • 26/09/2015 Fishing Report by TERRY BATT on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

26 Sep 2015 by TERRY BATT

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

Well, back from holiday now, and looking forward to our charter tomorrow, with such big spring tides that should flush some more Cod in, we were already getting around a dozen per trip before we went on holiday, so we should find a few more out there...??? let you know in a day or two..!!

We have a Bass trip on Monday, so with the big tides we have up until Tuesday we may get lucky with some of the larger fish that swim in our waters before leaving at this time of year, but it's not been the best year for big Bass I have to say, but you have to be in it to win it so to say..!!!

Well as nice as the holiday was, it's also nice to be back to start fishing once again, I have just been down to the boat to check all is well there, and rig all the rods ready for tomorrow...."I think I get as excited as the party"
but all is well and ready for the off in the morning, so until then.........
    Tight Lines...!!!!
