Brilliant day on Saturday with a good bunch of anglers. Nothing especialy big, but plenty of nice codling and ling. The rather too prolific mackerel caused some problems even to the extent of taking a stripped down pirk.

With the weekendweather set fine we have ben able to get to some of the better marks, we are still getting good bags of double figure THORNBACKS, The SMOOTHOUNDS are around in numbers but the TOPE seem to be a bit elusive with some good fish caught but they don't seem to stay in one area for very long.

Saturday and Sunday have been brilliant days for deep sea fishing here at Whitby.

We must have had 6 or 7 double hook ups of cod, during some fast paced fishing in the course of the day, with regular deckings of fine cod and ling. Only problem being the profusion of mackerel, necessitating
the removal of any hooks except the bottom one, in order to get down to the sea bed.
Its wild today (Sunday) so had to cancel, but the fish are here to stay now with any luck.
