    Report on-board Flamer IV

SPUR'S R'US - Malcolm Chalk and his crew from Essex came out on Flamer III for 5 days and enjoyed some good fishing catching cod, ling, brill, turbot, bull huss, conger, smooth hounds etc and a 7Ib 2oz tub gurnard. But on their fourth day something special and unusual happened.I decided to take them tope fishing but we did see a tope but caught over 120 spurdogs up to 15Ib in a frantic three hour session.I personaly have never seen spurdog fishing like it before and may never see it agian. In fact as they were bringing up the hooked ones several other spurs were following on behind,it was just an increadable sight.I am pleased to say every spur was released alive.Needless to say Malcolm and the lads enjoyed their expierience.
Fishing just never ceases to amaze me and I always say every day is different in the fishing world and events like this just want you and the customers to keep coming back for more.

JUNE 2009 - WEST COUNTRY TRIP

On the first day the cod fishing on the two wrecks I choose to drift over was just fantastic,in fact it was so good that we stopped fishing at 12 noon and went dolphin watching and we saw plenty of them. The three middle days we fished a variety of inshore marks catching plaice, whiting, gurnards, etc and some big bull huss in the 12 to 13Ib range. The last day we fished some wrecks on the drift and had a good catch of bigger cod up to 16Ib.We then anchored a wreck and had a session catching congers, ling and some monster pouts.
The Results of the speceies competition done over the 5 days were - Winner - Pedro,
    Runner Up - Ian,Most Species - Pedro,Best Flatfish - Dodgey Dave,Weakest Link - Geordie,Entertainer of the week - Dodgey Dave,Rotton Bottom Award - The Skipper.
Everyone enjoyed the trip and the social side of it was as good as ever if not better.Geordie and lads said 5 days goe's to quickly so plans are now a foot to do a 7 day trip in 2010.
PICTURED are the happy guys with some of their cod catch.

    Report on-board Sally Ann Jo

13th, 14th June, what a briliant weekend for the weather, shame the small tides made the fish difficult to keep on the feed, we still managed a good number of bream and three undulate rays between 13lb and 14lb. With weather that good everyone enjoyed themselves, let there be many more.

2009 has been very good to us so far and thankfully the fishing is still great.we were out on sunday despite the strong easterly as the lads were still keen to go.
we didnt venture too far due to the weather and as the lads were hire rods i didnt want to give them a rough trip.we had a good day after a very wet start and were rewarded in the afternoon with some bright sunshine and flat calm sea's.
we finished up with 23 thornbacks 1 small tope and a load of dogies.the lads and the boat both handled the sea really well and we didnt have one suffer with sea sickness!

    Report on-board Wight Huntress III

    Hi all
For a long time I have been waiting for early June to arrive as I love BIG Tope and thats what this time of year is all about. A recent trip around the Isle of Wight produced a bumper session with BIG tope attacking all of the rods at the same time! Here's a pic of the first two fish of the session weighing 50lb and 45lb. Great fishing, it must be as close to big game fishing as we come as these fish take their searing runs tearing line from the reel! Great Stuff! If you fancy some of this action then look for a smallish tide and ring me for details.
On these trips we can also go for Pollack, Conger and Bass, does it get any better????

    Report on-board Falmouth Sea Fishing

I have to admit, I couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the season aboard Carrick Lee. The kind weather and healthy work schedule have allowed us to take full advantage of the ongoing restrictions of commercial cod fishing.

The lack of nets in mid channel, have allowed the cod and Pollack shoals to regenerate and this has had a massive impact on our own catches.

From the early days of February this year, we have regularly caught more than 30 cod and Pollack in a days fishing.

Our biggest cod to date was a massive 32lb caught by Tony Ellis 18 April. We have also managed 3 other cod of over 28lb and a 16lb Pollack.

Most of the cod have been taken on artificial baits, such as white or blue 5” shads, jelly worms or side winders and the good old pirks and feathers. Our sponsors Tronix (UK) Ltd supply strung muppets in five different colours and they are great.

Slowly the season is changing and the summer weather will bring the bass, bream and conger on to feed.

Both Guy and my self look forward to the summer aboard Carrick Lee, and we now offer a varied range of trips for our customers. As well as our usual day trips, we do 4.30pm-10.30pm evening bass trips and special trips for stag parties.

Hope to see you this year.
