After a string of cancellations due to poor weather in Plymouth we managed to get our first Guernsey trip of the year on.
On the the way across the lads caught 70+ Pollack to 15lb, Ling to 10lb, Cod to 6lb and a single Coalfish.
Top rod on the way over was my old mate John Moore 76 from Liverpool, he caught a fish every drift and the biggest of the day.
The best part is he had not been fishing for over a year after having a sever stroke, but he has now made a full recovery and will be out with us a lot more from now on.
During our time in Guernsey we fished five different banks for Turbot and Brill, but sadly the fishing was very poor with just the odd small Turbot, Brill, Undulated Ray,
Red Gurnard and dreaded Dogfish to show for our efforts.
We did try for Bream for a few hours on one of the days catching them up to 2lb along with Tub Gurnard, Mackerel, Scad, Lance, Whiting, Pout, Poor Cod and Weaver,
On the way home the plan was to hit the same marks as on the way over but we knew the weather was closing in so we set off at 5.30am.
The fishing on the way home was ok at first catching Pollack to 13lb, but as the flood tide decreased and the SW wind increased the fishing went off, that’s Mother Nature for you!!
The weather is looking good for the next week so we will be out there every day doing our best for our anglers as alway.
Thanks
Kevin Mckie

Two day report Tuesday and Wednesday 18 th 19th June.

Went hunting for Tope without any luck on favourite spot although we had fresh mackerel and sand eels. We then moved to another spot and John ensured that everyone caught fish including bait presentation advice and even casting.A mixture of smooth hounds spotty dogs and whiting and one small gunard, mackerel and sand eels made up the bag for the day.
Wednesday the weather forecast was not great so we went after thornback rays closer in. We had four in the first half an hour. Later we decided it was worth a look further afield for bass. We managed one and several sand eels and mackerel. The weather turned so we returned to the skate ground and caught 24 in total up to 9.5 lbs, most of which were returned.
As usual plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits all day . Jon is always happy to move to find fish and to help out with unhooking fish etc.UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD High Flyer 2

Edmund and his friends joined us the other day and had a nice show of fish for their efforts.
Edmund himself had our first treble of cod of the year on the baited Hokkai trace. Some nice ling boated too. Squid was the best bait of the day.
Cheers for now
Rich

Fishing Report by Philip Higgins

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
The weather has hampered fishing with lots of wet and windy conditions a far cry from this time last year add that to the continued presence of a large pod of Dolphins patrolling Poole Bay eating anything that swims, they have been seen flicking Bass into the air then devouring them as they hit the water. The Ray fishing continues to be good with plenty of Undulates, Small Eyed and Thornbacks being landed and released along with more dogfish and very small conger eels. This years Bream fishing has fluctuated with the tides but remains good with a bumper crop of very small bait robbing bream around if you fish small enough hooks you can get 3 at a time. During the bigger tides Bass dominate everyone's thoughts and there are plenty around to have a good days fishing and as long as you keep to the 1 fish rule you will be safe from the authorities.

Weekend report:-
View Boats Page
Set off Saturday morning wondering north or south to head due to the seas and rain we've had through the week, a flip of the coin decided south it was, we picked up a few fish early on then an un-forecast wind from the s.e came away making fishing even harder than it already was, we had no more than 20 fish for the day to maybe 6lb, Saturday evening was a pick away trip, dozens of 6" coalies and a few cod, the weather was fantastic kinda making up for the lack of fish!!! (in a way haha)
We set off Sunday morning with a plan to fish the local wrecks and a southerly wind coupled with the tide put a dampener on that one so we headed inshore for a bit shelter which we got working our way along the coast only managing a few cod for the efforts then the wind dropped and wreck time it was come noon. Just aswell we did as we ended the day for 30+ fish with ling to around 12lb and cod to around 7lb and a dozen or so macky, the hard work and moving around payed off in the end.
Get your places booked up peeps on 07572381784 as spots are going fast and it's first come first served, thanks to all those who fish with us as it can't be done without you's!! Tight lines folk -
