Report on-board Shy-Torque III
A great day at sea with my old mate Nigel Hall and his mates the other day. Gordon Yates, Dave Ryan and regular local lad Fergus Powell joining the group.
View Boats Page
The forecast was good for the best part of the day so we ran to a wreck 9 miles from shore where we picked the fish steadily until the change of tide at lunch time. A combination of cod, ling and plenty of pollack too. The afternoon tide didn't fish well at all, with only a half dozen or so fish.
The sidewinder eels and shads doing the damage with the ling falling as ever, to the baited rigs.
Cheers for now and tight lines wherever you're fishing!!

Size Matters has officially arrived back in Plymouth for the summer season.
If our first charter is anything to go by then this season is going to be incredible.
We managed to get the pot noodle boys from Kent out to JURASSIC PARK to feed our pet Six Gill Sharks.
The fishing was truly incredible, the three lads caught 12 Six Gill Sharks yes that’s right 12!!!
500lb, 410lb, 365lb, 320lb, 310lb, 260lb, 220lb, 220lb, 210lb, 205lb, 140lb, 135lb.
This is the most Six Gill Sharks caught on any charter boat in the UK.
We only boated a few of the Sharks, they never left the deck of the boat and the deck wash was used at all times.
To lift the Sharks onboard we used our Skate sling from Scottish National Heritage it was perfect for the job once we got the hang of it.
We did get bitten off using 900lb wire (there is always a bigger fish) and 3 of the Sharks had long line hooks in them that we removed.
The lads also managed a Porbeagle Shark, loads of Pollack to 9lb and Ling to 18lb.
If you are lucky enough to be booked on with us to fish JURASSIC PARK over the next two years then we will only be allowing one Shark per person to be put on the deck for photos, the rest will be filmed or photographed in the water.
Size Matters is fully kitted out with all the latest fishing tackle from our sponsors Shimano UK.
Thanks
Kevin Mckie

We got out on Sunday inbetween the bad weather. The wrecks fished steadily with Pollock to 7lb and Coley to 5lb.
A few small cod about too and a few Mackerel. The Mackerel seem a bit scarce at the moment, hopefully they will be back soon.
Cheers Pat -

Report on-board Shy-Torque III
Sailed on Sunday with mixed groups on the boat. The day produced a slow but steady picking of fish around the 5, 7 and 9 mile area. Best fish of the day falling to one of our regular anglers, young Fergus Powell from Whitby, a nice cod 0f 8lbs 5oz.
View Boats Page
Conditions on the day were great making the fishing nice and easy for the lads. The artificials worked as well as the baited rigs with the water clear now which is great news!
Reminder that the Summer comp starts here at Whitby on Saturday 22nd June and runs for 3 weeks.
Check the calendar here on CBUK for days left with room.
Cheers
Rich

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Weekend of 8/9th June very blustery day with heavy downpours not alot of fun. Despite the weather conditions not to bad a weekend few thornbacks on the sat none on the sunday very strange ! Nice decent smoothounds not too many the small ones knicking the bait first in most cases, the spotty dogs still mopping everything up along with the ever present whiting nowdays. Picture today of local angler Kevin Lowan regular on High Flyer 2 and best chef in Corton! Keep bringing the cakes Kev!!!!Big thanks to all with the testing weather its much appreciated. Looking ahead we have the first tope trips next week few places left on the wednesday 19th hopefully will connect with them fingers crossed for that, just need a break from this weather. Until then tight lines everyone . Jon

Report on-board Flamer IV
The Annual 3 boat competition between Flamer IV, Supanova II and MeerKat took place on a lovely June day with competition based on the biggest Cod.
View Boats Page
All three boats went out to the wrecks in different areas and found the fishing tough going.
Results - Flamer IV was top boat with Kevin Clark's 9Ib Cod, 2nd place was Supanova 8Ib Cod, 3rd place was Meerkat who unfortunatley did not catch any Cod.
The winning skipper gets to pick what the competition will be fished for next year, this will be announced soon with the date etc.
Pictured is Kevin Clark with his 9Ib Cod.
Note: Flamer IV teams have done the treble this year winning all three annual competitions against Supanova II and Meerkat and now hold three trophies, So Manchester City are not the only ones to do a treble this year. -

Report on-board Blueye 2
Considering yesterday's weather and all the fresh water coming off the land today's trip was better than i expected. Finished the day with around 20-25 fish, biggest ling around 11-12lb, cod to around 4lb and also found a few mackerel which are still shy.
