Report on-board Kelley's Hero Charters
Since I last blogged, Kelley's Hero has done a few trips. This included 2 wrecking trips, 1 bream trip and 1 with both due to the weather.

Whilst out wrecking we have managed to find some nice fish. It is a great feeling being able to report to you that the cod are certainly in. We thought maybe it was a fluke with the last blog. The last 2 wrecking trips has thrown out some nice Cod.
The first trip the weather was perfect and calm seas blessed our day. The fishing never really slowed down all day with around about 100 cod hitting the decks, and 20ish Pollock. The anglers certainly were going to sleep well that night.
The second wrecking trip was just as good however the weather wasn't as nice. Before going to bed the night before the weather forecast was brilliant. We woke up, got the boat ready, all the guys were ready for there day afloat. Once we got the wrecks, the tide was just starting to die down, and the chop started from there. It made for some uncomfortable fishing, however we stuck it out and had very similar results to the last trip. Ending up with very similar numbers of fish.
We decided that it was time to stay inshore and head for some bream, and we did just that. The sea was flat, the wind was light, and the sun was out, what more could we want. We had plenty of grounbait, and plenty of bites. The bream that were being landed were anything between 1 and a half lb, and 2lb 6oz. The species weren't as prolific as the last inshore trips however we ended up with a couple of thornback rays, endless amount of bream, with many returned, and a couple of smoothound.
So the weather forecast for Saturday was giving light winds again, with a little bit of rain. We don't mind the rain, so we set up another wrecking trip. We turned up to the boat in the morning with our anglers all there ready to go. We checked the forecast before we left, and it had changed ever so slightly. Not enough to stop us though. We headed out to the wrecks once again. However we only had 3 Pollock and 1 cod before the tide turned it got too choppy for us and we returned inshore to go and find some bream. After finding a few fresh mackerel we headed inshore and put the anchor down. After catching a few nice bream, we decided enough was enough for one week and we headed for the pub.

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
With the wind blowing Northerly at 30 mph most of the day, we took our charter party along the coast to a place just off of Clacton on sea, and stayed within half a mile of the beach.

We are very fortunate to have a lot of protection from most prevailing winds so we don't have to cancel too many trips to the weather.
Well we got to our fishing mark in just over 25 minutes, travelling at 22 knots ,once Nicola shot the anchor away and we settled we had the first Thornback Ray hooked up, a nice fish at just over 9 lbs.
As we were landing the first fish and taking out the hook, a second fish was wrenching the rod hard over..!! a nice fish again at 12 lbs, so the competition was on...lol
The wind was relentless and kept at a steady 28-30 mph all day, but the fish just kept on coming, by the end of the day, between the 6 anglers on board, they managed to land around 30 Thornback Rays, we didn't see anything else, but we really didn't have bait for anything else, but a good friend of mine, and skipper of the Chinook 3 Phil White wisely took some Hermit crabs, and he called me to say they had just landed an 8lbs Smoothound, and he was fishing just a short distance from me.... then he had another hound, so nice to see hounds this far inshore.... Well done Phil, good job...!!
It looks as if the winds are stuck in this North sector for the time being, but with a good run of fish to be had close in I doubt we will lose any trips.
We have a group of gentlemen on the boat Saturday, on a Pre-wedding event...(Stag Do) and they want fishing and clay pigeon shooting, so even if the wind blows, we will still be catching fish, and busting clays.
Bass are all around at the moment, we had one take a piece of Herring the other day, a decent little fellow, at around 4 lbs, but as you all know, we cant keep them so back it had to go....!! but as of the 1st July you will be allowed to take one each...... I know, tough isn't it... but rules is rules even if we don't agree with them, but make no mistake about it.... if you do sneak one in your box without the skippers knowledge, and you get caught, it will be a £9,000.00 fine, so best don't do it..!!!!
Ok I will leave it there for now, and report back after Fridays charter, you can go to my Face Book page terry batt fishing and see all photos....... Tight lines...!! -

Hello yet again bad rumours, i m just about getting cheesed off regarding the slagging off by petty idiots from the crouch if they read this they will know who i am talking about. Our vessel is one of the easiest to get aboard there is no climbing ladders rails or long walks from car parks if i tell you that it is easy to get on then i dont have to lie but when i get feedback regarding my business then whoever it is will get a rude awakening we are not the fastest boat in the fleet but thats the way we like it iam sure 49 years in the job speak for itself as for comfort we can shelter our anglers in our cabin and wheelhouse but when the question of disabled anglers are concerned then please speak to me first as i can then let you have contacts that fish with us (of which some are disabled) tell you how easy it is to go for a days fishing with us, sorry for a report like this but Matt and myself have had enough and harsh words will follow if we do find the culprit Trev / Matt -

Report on-board My Way 2
Marking the start to our hounding season, last week saw the return of the annual Smoothhound Challenge aboard GO Angling - My Way Sea Fishing Trips, this year sponsored by tackle innovators Tronixpro.

Conditions were great all week with calm seas greeting all that fished with us. The fishing wasn’t hectic, with packs of smoothhies failing to show. Instead a steady stream came to the boat, mainly lone hounds with the odd double or triple hook up through the week
Up for grabs each day during our Smoothhound challenge a TronixFishing rod and reel combo, Envoy Multiplier reel and a 3 piece multitip, Iridium Berlangas 275 rod. All the angler had to do was catch the heaviest smoothhound of the day.
We managed to land over 120 smoothies, many in the 6 to 10lb range, quite small by our own standards, but true to form with the cycle of smoothhound fishing and sizes. However the best during our week was caught by local rod Mark Cain, a whopping 24lb 2oz, just short of the current Welsh Record.

Report on-board Sea-Juicer
The smoothounds turned up in good numbers during May for some excellent fishing for the anglers aboard some days in excess of 40 hounds being caught & released the good majority being over 10lb although smaller tides did prove harder work but the off shore banks produced some nice size rays. Smoothounds should continue during June with more Undulate rays showing on the inshore Marks .

Friday saw us joined by a party of novice anglers from the Worksop/Mansfield area. The boys were VERY impressed with the NEW Sonic hire rods coupled with the NEW Shimano and Penn reels for them to use. After a quick instruction in the use of multiplier reels the lads were keen to get fishing.

After a steam out to the first wreck for slack water the fish soon started to arrive aboard. A mixture of codling, Strap Ling and Whiting taken on bait and baited hookki's.
After slack water we had a move to some ground on the 9 mile where we had Codling, Pollack, Whiting and Pouting.
With the change of tide we were back on the wrecks where the Big lad caught the best fish of the day a nice cod of about 7lb. Now the Algae bloom is clearing by the day the fishing is set to improve vastly and the Shads will be coming into play. The Bigger Ling are also starting to show their heads.
With the W.C.S.A festival starting on the 25/6/2016 Will Super Skipper Paul Eddon and Trot On make it 4 wins in a row???? -

Fishing Report by Simon Fisher
on Just Fishing (Brixham, Devon)

Report on-board Just Fishing
Bank Holiday weekend saw "Just Fishing" of Brixham out on the Wrecks...... Saturdays tides and conditions were perfect for targeting Ling, after a slow morning, the afternoon saw plenty of rod bending action with plenty of double figure fish being boated,an absolute cracking days fishing...... Sunday we steamed right out into the Channel in search of Cod and Pollock and again the morning saw the fish not playing ball, after a move to a couple more Wrecks we found some hard fighting Pollock and Chunky Cod, all caught on various colour sidewinder lures showing they were not fussy.
View Boats Page
Bank holiday Mondays wind was more breezy than the previous days but we set out again in search of Pollock and Cod,being an 8 hr trip we didnt travel as far.....once again the afternoon proved to be more productive with plenty of Pollock coming to the net, all ideal table eating size with a few double figure fish thrown in... All in all a great long weekends fishing and a great finish to the month.
With the warmer weather now really on the way im really looking forward to next month where "Just Fishing" of Brixham will be visiting the reefs for Bass, continueing the Banks for Plaice and Ray aswell as the wrecks for more Ling trips planned but also targetting the Cod which are now here and also later in June and thoughout the summer targeting Black Bream and Conger..
Thank you to all our Anglers for there support.
