Fishing Report by Philip Higgins
on Mistress Linda / San Gina3 (Poole, Dorset)

Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3
This week has seen the full spectrum for a charter skipper, to start the week we had plenty of small to medium sized bream and lots of Small Eyed Ray's. The inshore fishing was very good then came the decision to go offshore chasing the Cod and Pollack which proved illusive we tried several wrecks and a couple of 'banker' marks (always get a fish spots) we still had poor results but as the day progressed we did grind out enough fish to make it a reasonable trip thankfully the weather was great and the spirits were up. Today we choose to fish inshore for big bream which in the strong winds proved challenging to anchor the spot, thankfully we were into fish quickly with bream up to 3lb 4ozs coming aboard. The fishing was not fast and furious but the quality of fish being landed certainly made up for that. Again the weather was fantastic and added to a great days fishing.

Amazing fishing despite the weather blowing North east 25 mph Friday and much the same Saturday but a slight change to the north north east Sunday plenty of skate Friday close to home with a crowd from London complete novices but they managed to get the hang of it by the end of the day , Saturday a trip down river produced 20 smooth hounds to 10 lb plus a good amount of skate to 11 lb but they brought their own squid and it was as pink as a girls blouse lol. Sunday a far better day 30 hounds to 14.11 lbs and 6 skate to 13 lb that we did manage to coax on herring as yet again the squid was dire lucky we had some hermits that saved the day well done lads hope to see you again in the future

A vast improvement for today's mixed group of lads.
Most of the lads averaging around 6 - 8 fish each and all being caught on the shads and sidewinder lures. A few of the lads were baiting their lures with good results.
Simon England from Barnsley, South Yorks, enjoying a nice catch of 12 fish. A mixed bag of Codling and Ling.
Top bag for the day was Steve Mason from Chesterfield with 15 fish. Again, a mixed bag of Codling and Ling.
Nothing of any great size, but with the general Codling stamp being around the 4 - 5 lb mark and the ling running to around the 7 lb mark, a very enjoyable days work indeed. All today's fish coming from inside 6 miles too which is a very good sign.
It's looking like the dreaded algae is finally abating lads, so lets hope thing continue to improve for the season from here-on-in.
Cheers and tight lines as ever!!

Fishing Report by Colin Penny
on Flamer IV (Weymouth, Dorset)
25 May 2016 by Colin Penny
Report on-board Flamer IV
Peter Chillingworth and crew joined Flamer IV for a two day Angling Break and did a day's Reef/Bank fishing catching Black Bream, Rays etc on day one and on day two went Wrecking and caught Pollack and Cod along with some Bass which of course under the current EU rules all had to be returned. The disturbing fact was that only half the Bass returned swam away to be caught no doubt by a commercial vessel who can keep them, the rest floated away dead as they did Not recover coming up form a depth of 140 feet. What a waste, So much for conservation. Pictured Is Ian Wright with a 10Ib 9oz Cod he caught on a Red Gill Lure.

Weymouth Angling Breaks -
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.
