    Report on-board Mistress Linda / San Gina3

Yesterday the boys from Christchurch Angling Centre were treated to trip by owner Tom, although mainly beach anglers they soon adjusted to mini species boat angling and fish were coming aboard quickly inc Bream, Hounds, Pout and the faithful LSDs. Toby using a LRF rod had great fun and hooked into a nice Small Eyed Ray only to realise that he had tangled with his other rod which had the fish and after a good scrap he landed a lovely 12lb fish which was returned very quickly. Great night for all and well done Tom for not being seasick

    Report on-board Flamer IV

Peter Gillett from Ipswich and friends joined Flamer IV for their annual 5 day Angling Break. The first two days were spent anchor fishing on Reefs and Banks. Peter Gillett landed a double shot of Small Eyed Rays "first time I had ever seen that happen", he also landed a 3Ib 8oz Black Bream.Glenn Barrett landed his Personal Best Undulate Ray weighing 17Ib. The guys caught several other species - Thornback, Blonde and Spotted Rays, Tope, Smooth Hounds, Bull Huss, Tub Gurnards etc. Pictured is Peter Gillett with his 3Ib 8oz Black Bream.

    Weymouth Angling Breaks -
A few days away fishing out of Weymouth along with the social side is a nice trip to do.The variety of fishing and the amount of different species caught at Weymouth is probably second to none. There are plenty of places to stay which are angler friendly and some excellent places to wine and dine around the harbour and in Weymouth Town centre.
If you want to try a Weymouth Angling Break then contact me, I cater for whole boat charters and individuals.
Planning your trip well in advance is essential you need to arrange your boat booking and your accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment, some of my regular groups plan their trips at least 12 months in advance, this allows them to discuss with me the best tides for the type of fishing they are targeting.

  • 05/06/2016 Fishing Report by TERRY BATT on Vanishing Point-2 (Bradwell Marina, Essex)

5 Jun 2016 by TERRY BATT

    Report on-board Vanishing Point-2

Fishing at the weekend was a fair bit slower that the previous three days.

Saturday Were a fine bunch of lads, with some squadies and ex Army personnel, a right laugh, and everyone enjoyed their day as it was a stag do for one of their mates Ail don't want to think how that ended up later that night in Colchester near the barracks..

But the boys fished well and shot well and Hugh won the "Vanishing Point-2 Top Gun" trophy these boys served in Iraqi so well done lads, and they enjoyed the DVD of Jim Davidson in Iraqi entertaining our troops, on their way back to Bradwell.

Sunday....... the strong breeze from the East did take it's toll on the fishing as usual, but the boys fished on and did ok.

The hound fishing was not great in the shallows we had a 9lbs hound on the first cast, and |I thought here we go...!! but that was it for 20 mins, then we had some small hounds around the 3 to 4lbs bracket so we moved into 32 foot just off the edge, and it was fairly busy for the last hour before the high water at 1300.

We then cut across the top of the sands, back into the Blackwater , and once the tide got away we had a quadruple hook up of Skate, this went on for a while until the tide started to ease back, and the wind started blow the boat up the anchor rope...!!! but the day was just about done by then, so we decided to up anchor and start processing the catch,

Me and Nicola are fishing out of Brighton tomorrow not sure which boat we are on???, but the target species is Plaice and Black Bream.... so fingers crossed, it will make a nice change to just fish ourselves and let another skipper do the work....lol

Ok guys catch you later............ Tight lines & Hot Guns...!!
