Fishing Report by Les Jones
on White Maiden II (Lymington, Hampshire)
2 May 2016 by Les Jones
Report on-board White Maiden II
Had a good day out yesterday on White Maiden hosting and observing some of the England Boat Team members with Matt Osborne catching the best Black Bream at 3lb 2oz. Steve Batchelor proved they were there, at our second mark, with Black Bream getting bigger through the tide. Gary Galbraith caught his contender followed by Martin Bobbet but both were pipped by Matt just before we moved off, for a go at the Plaice. The better Plaice showed up in the end with Gary taking a few small ones before this double shot and then again, at lines up, Cots took the money with the biggest Plaice at 2lb 2oz. Other species caught were Pollock, Bull Huss, Ballions and Ballan Wrasse, Dogs, Pout and Garfish.

Report on-board Dawn Venture
had Ronnie and his pals out on saturday...bit of a scratching around day for doggies and whiting til we found the cod and haddock on a reef...we got around 20 cod with 13 keepers, biggest 4.5lb and 12 haddock to 1.5lb.
View Boats Page
a decision to move was made and we started getting doggies and whiting again.....
then we got hooked into another common skate that just kept taking line against a rod bent double.35mins we tussled and made no headway and then the line parted.
thats 5 hook-ups in 10 days with 1 landed and we are only fishing in 65-80ft of water....the trouble with not targetting them is we arent using the gear to beat them...... -

Report on-board Girl Mandy
Hi Folks just a quick update for the bank holiday weekend lots of skate on all three days plus the neverending dogs a report of a codling on sat but nothing to speak of.Monday was a little slower due to the 26 to 36 mph winds but a great day was had by Graham and the lads and the rain managed to stay away until after we landed so all in all a great long weekend. I somehow dont think the spring run of cod will now come so its eyes down for the summer species bigger hounds and the bass plus hopefully some mackerel this year so until next time super fishing and tight lines regards Trev

Report on-board High Flyer 2
This report brings us up to date to 1st May covering the weekend the weather was nice and sunny for once sea flat calm on Saturday didnt start till mid morning so lost first run of the tide unfortunately . Few flatties came in to start followed by some spotty dogs and a small smoothound nice to see this early plus the usual whiting! Decided to move as a weak tide further south to deeper patch of water which paid off nicely ended up with 9 thornbacks in total released back by the lads also lost a bass by the boat estimated around the 5 lb mark would have made nice photo shame. Was a good day all round picture here of Richard who organised the boys from Milton Keynes much appreciated looking forward to seeing you boys again hopefully.

Sunday started off well weather wise forcast of no wind decided to try our luck on the roker again, unfortunately the weather decided to rain here and there and the wind picked up from the south quite blustery wind against tide making it a early day! Caught only two skate , plenty of dogs and too many whiting again! Big thanks to Kumar and Ras from London appreciate you guys travelling down also Dave jones who was on the skate today and Chris for skippering home, enjoyed the day in all not a bad weekend.
Few places this weekend as had cancellation on Sunday 8th . Tight lines everyone. Jon. (High Flyer)UPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD High Flyer 2

Report on-board JFK TWO
jfk two breezy weekend plenty fish
View Boats Page
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday 2nd may
been out today a little breezy but really comfortable aboard jfk two.
opted for the inshore marks again today, with the stiff breeze, again fish from the first drop. [hadn't even stopped the engines yet]
3 rods straight into fish, lovely clean white bellied spring cod. 2.5 to 4lbs, lovely start.
and steady away practically all day. the odd slower spell, but then a mad burst of fish.
coming over the gunnels. mostly 2 to 4lbs but then you would hit, spells of cod around the 6lbs mark. all the fish giving a cracking fight, fighting as if they were twice the weight they are in the shallow water.
everybody having a good day, best angler john taking 18 fish home others ant and dan taking 12 -14 fish each,
overall a lovely day out [despite the wind and rain]
there's no doubt the spring cod have arrived in force both on the wrecks and inshore

Fishing Report by Gethyn Owen
on My Way 2 (Holyhead, Isle of Anglesey)
Apr 2016 by Gethyn Owen
Report on-board My Way 2
What a month April has been, weather wise we often refer to April showers, but this last month I think April has been through all the seasons, with a few days consisting of glorious sunshine, together with rain, hail snow and an awful lot of wind. This squall was sat above our intended fishing ground in Holyhead Deep.
View Boats Page
We left calm seas, in bright sunshine and were greeted with a good stiff breeze, that then also through hail, sleet and full on snow mid April. It turned bitterly cold with ice sticking to the deck. Back inshore that afternoon; the sunshine once again blazed down upon us.
We have managed a good number of trips afloat, were some have tested our patience and kept us inshore, others have seen us venture into Holyhead Deep for successful hours catching big spurdogs and bull huss. Inshore we found a good mixed bag on every day, dogfish, codling, whiting and huss ranging from a few ounces up to double figures coming to the boat regularly.
Local angler Phil Crompton had not fished afloat for a good number of years, concentrating his efforts more on the shore. Wanting to find his way back into boat angling, Phil chose a trip to Holyhead Deep this week to kick start his angling escapades afloat. The rewards came thick and fast with plenty of bits inshore followed by some great spurdog fishing
I had avoided drifting the inshore rock marks for a number of weeks, sadly the [pollack were slow to move in and the waters far too cold still for wrasse. By Mid April, it was time for another try. Thankfully the smaller pollack were around together with a few coalfish,. Nothing big, but a start for inshore fishing and with fish ranging from 1 to 3lb, a steady flow ensured great fun for an early season session.
With an ever increasing species count, Aprils fishing improved daily with a great variety of fish coming aboard My Way most days
