Report on-board Mistress
Finally we've got a spare day or two to report on our last week or so here at Whitby,
View Boats Page
The Mistress anglers have been rewarded with some great fishing still when we have been getting offshore, with some cracking bags of fish, with 20-30 fish per angler not uncommon, again all on shads one at a time on light gear.
We have had fish around double figures most days we have been getting offshore too.
With conditions not being perfect to run offshore one day and a lift in tides this week we had a go at the uptiding again, we got off to great start with anglers getting double hook-ups of cod on their pennel rigs, and some real nice fat 5/6lbers too, but as the breeze got up we struggled holding position with wind against tide, but we were still clicking a few codlings but had to call it a day with deteriorating sea conditions. the lads still enjoyed their day with cod upto 6lb and ling upto 7lb.
We are currently experiencing another bout of poor weather with fresh easterly winds keeping us ashore.
It has given me time to get out shore fishing a bit with plenty of fish inshore, so the prospects look good for the uptiding once this sea dies away sufficiently for us to get back out at em!
If you fancy a crack at the winter fishing give us a call on 07977 436903, e-mail: seafishingwhitby@hotmail.co.uk or drop me a message on my facebook page, Mistress Sea Angling Charters

Report on-board Vanishing Point-2
Well the weekend saw lots of east NEast wind..!! but most boats got out, on Saturday we went and although fishing was quite hard, most managed to turn in reasonable catches..

We made a very quick start on Saturday, with a Roker and a Codling coming to the boat in the first 10
minutes, I thought yes...! here we go, then not a lot for another hour, just doggies and whiting, which if I'm totally honest. I look around the boat, and see the guys pulling these, almost unwanted fish in, but with an air of subdued excitement, and think to myself some times, just some times when things are a little slow, these smaller fish do keep the rod tips nodding, and fill a very important gap while waiting for the bigger to come on.... well that's just my take on it.
But things did pick up, and we had some lovely Codling and Skate, and all went home happy, so much so, that my Sunday party which I was NOT HAPPY WITH....!!!!!! they put the phone down on me on Friday night, but got hold of the organizer on Saturday and came out with all the excuses in the world, but the truth was he forgot he made the booking and they just were not coming.....Aaaarrgh..! but..... every cloud has a silver lining?? the lovely guys I had out on Saturday, when they heard me talking to another skipper on the VHF radio, say I will not now be out tomorrow (Sunday) said to me... "is the Vanishing Point available tomorrow???" I said yes due to some plonker letting me down at the last minute..!! they said well we will take over the booking and come again tomorrow, and they did.
On Sunday the boy's from the day before, arrived rearing to go once again bringing with them £70.00 worht of prime Rib eyed steaks....yum yum..!!, and there was more wind on Sunday, and we were the only vessel to push on out, but in fairness all those that opted to stay in the River Blackwater were doing better than we were
so after a couple of hours trying different marks we also , to return to the Blackwater, and once the Codling started, it was really good fishing, lovely size Codling, and once again the boys went home very happy, and very full up after Nicola grilled their steaks for them...... see you next monthe guys, and thank you so much for saving our Sunday booking.... bless you...
Tight lines....!!!! -

The latest match in the Flamer IV Flatty League produced some excellent flatty fishing. Andy Collings and David Gibson are now tied up with equal points at the top of the league and Jim Stone is still in the running, the final match on October 20th should be interesting to see who is crowned Champion. The Dates for the Flatty league in 2016 will be out soon,so if you are interested in fishing in the flatty league then contact me a.s.a.p.
The signs are good for next year with the mussels now growing back which will surely attract back the Big Plaice. Andy Collings is pictured with a 3Ib 5oz Plaice.
