The drop in temperature has bought the whiting into the bay, on an Albion club match last Sunday they landed over 100 whiting to reasonable size plenty of dogfish in all 12 species were recorded. Ian Hansford caught the best fish of the weekend landing another fine Turbot of 8lb. The cod fishing is good with the larger fish now appearing, our best this season is only 15lb but reports of fish to 27lb have been caught.

This report covers 31st/1st/2cd conditions were far from good on the 31st so it was close in off the claremont pier with Whiting in abundance i dont think it matters where you go at the moment also the party had a nice 56cm Cod in there as well,i hope all your boys enjoyed it Alex,The 1st sore a thick blanket of fog all along our coast so decided to fish off the Roads with the radar running it was a pretty clean ride with only one more boat ahead of us,with the anchor down it was fish from the start loads of nice sized Whiting and 3 Cod to 58cms,i couldn't get the pictures up of the reels Antony,Monday it was a half day for Trevor and his two Ladies i took them to a mark not to far away with plenty of Whiting coming into the boat they were well pleased then we had a nice 48cm Cod and Renny then got into a 5lb Rooker that i didn't expect to see a great mornings fishing,note the rod in the middle of the picture this caught the most with baited lures just off the back,hope you enjoy your fish and look forward to seeing you all again soon,Brian.

October has flown by with lots of trip chasing all sorts of fish. the weather may have been a pain for some but we have been very fortunate to have some great fishing in the blackwater estuary to fall back on when its too rough to get else where. To be honest sometimes the fishing was better in the estuary than it was further off with fish more concentrated. As ever there has been no shortage of whiting and dogfish about and depending where we fished it was usually one or the other (if not both) keeping us busy and robing our baits. In places the numbers of thornbacks has been steady with the average stamp slightly smaller this time of year going from maids to 8lbs or so. The stamp of cod on the other had is great at the moment with many on the 3-7lbs range even in the estuary. The numbers of fish are going up steadily now with the best numbers turning up later in the season last year. There are still a few summer fish here and there and we even found a few smooth-hounds the other day. the biggest fell to one lucky anglers (me) at 13.5lbs . this is by far the latest ive seen a double figure hound and ive no doubt is related to the relatively high water temp. over the coming weeks we should see more codling coming out and if were lucky might find one or two of the better fish as well. Ive got a few spaces before the end of the year and have put all of my dates for next year on my page. Out a few times over the last few days. Lots of whiting,dabs,dogs,red-grey and tub gurnards,herring,codling,poor cod and huss. We managed a good amount of mackerel a bit further offshore. Seem to be pulling in a few squid at the moment too.

5 hour trip today, fished the 4 mile mark, good numbers of Dabs, few Whiting, Dogfish and Bullhuss, and 1 lonley Mackeral, then moved in at high water to fish the end of the river, plenty of good size Whitings, and a few Dabs and Dogfish.

And here we are on Halloween 31/10/15 and its like summer here at Hartlepool
The fish are still coming onboard even the mackerel are still here in big numbers
How long for you may ask well who knows but long may it reign and give the lads some great sport
the main stay of the fishing is cod and ling with the majority around the 3-5lb mark with a few doubles thrown in for the luckier anglers
shads are still working well and squid baits are having there days as well will double and triple shots coming over the gunnels

the wind has played havoc with our ability to put to sea,the sea is stirred and coloured and we have had to wait for the ebb tide to gain clarity
the most recent trips have produced haddock,codling,whiting,doggies,coalies,plenty of whiting,a couple of small huss and some pollack from the weeds under the cliffs(best is 6.5lb)
now is the time to start uptiding for the codling close in after a good rough sea....so if anyone is interested in that,drop me a line

Codling fishing getting in full swing now with Thornbacks also taking the baits ,couple of nice bass hooked on the night session last night taking live whiting, pictured is young lenny bloy who showed his dad how to do it with his first codling at 5lb ,hope he's hooked for life now: midweek and evening sessions available

The Uptiding on Sea -otter 2 continues to fish very well indeed been a very good week on cod a really nice stamp of fish and plenty of them the best lad today had over 20 cod himself plenty around the 5-6lb mark .
The lads with just a few of there fish .
