Report on-board Silver Halo
Fishing has been really good the last couple of months and I've found a good run of pollock to keep my clients busy while the bass slowly arrive.
View Boats Page
Lures and jigs have been used to great effect and I've just too many pics to upload so I've just done a select few! Please see my facebook page and group for more regular updates and reports.
So I hope the pollock fishing remains a good option, but I'm also expecting larger numbers of bass to start holding on our inshore wrecks, allowing us to fish with lures, jigs and occasionally live baits a bit closer to home.
I've been using some new jigs and lures that have done really well and these are currently available onboard for my clients to purchase.
I also have good lure and SPJ rods and reels for clients to use, these are included in the charter price.
Silver Halo is affordable as a private charter so its worth considering that as an option.
Please see my availablity calander, the unspecified days are usually available for either individuals or complete boat charters.
Many thanks MattUPCOMING INDIVIDUAL SPACES ONBOARD Silver Halo

Offhsore wrecking yesterday and a pleasure to welcome father & Son Mark & Alex who travelled down to us from glorious N.Wales in search of Cod & Pollock, they were not disappointed and really pleased to see them heading back home with both after a beautiful day at sea. The fishing machine which is Simon Clark was also with us and landed Cod, Pollock and Bass ...... nothing new there!
Fantastic to see the offshore wreck fishing remaining so consistent this late.
A well needed break for us coming up with some family & friends time planned - just need to get through the next couple of days which consist of 1 Offshore trip and 5 inshore trips. Busy is good, manic not so good!
Best wishes

A proper damp and squibby day today for our two Chinese contingents from Leeds and Scunthorpe yesterday.

Fortunately there was no wind to speak of which was a blessing on these mid range tides.
We started the day looking for the Mackerel, to no avail. Birds feeding all over the place on the way out but nothing under the feed at all.
We decided to try a couple of bits of scrap during the first slack water period between 8.30am and 9.30am and took a dozen or so Codling and Ling from those.
As the ebb tide pushed through and strengthened and the drift speed increased quickly, we chose to run to a strip of ground 7 miles off.
Immediately, the lads were pulling strings of Mackerel up on everything that went in the water!!
Plenty of Haddock there too.
I personally worked a 4” pink shad for 3 drifts and took a dozen keepers! These will be very welcome on the table over the next few days. Love Haddock!!
As the tide eased back again for the second slack water of the day, we moved in to another piece of wreckage where the lads took another 8 Cod from it.
Tally for the day, a very reasonably 100 fish to keep. 30 or 40 of those being (“keeper” Haddock!)
Tony from Leeds taking the best of the day on his last drop. A lovely Cod of 9lb 15oz.
This has now gone into the lead for June’s heaviest fish of the month on the Shy-Torque III where the winner gets a free trip for their efforts.
Cheers for now chaps,
Rich

We have seen some nice bass coming out at times over the last few trips. they have shown on general, offshore and land of no fish trips and in various sizes and numbers. On our general trips worm is definitely helping and we can provide them on the boat care of Colchester bait and tackle if you pre-order. Further afield they have shown on fish baits and lures too. Please let me know if you wish to be added to the list for offshore trips over the coming months or if you fancy a full boat booking for specific species such as bass, tope, plaice or turbot.

most anglers averaging 5-6 fish each. however when the SE wind came through. it immediaterly made the fishing a lot harder sat afternoon
and on sunday with the SE wind and swell from the off , it turned out a much tougher day, with the lift in swell definaterly turning the fish off -
