Report on-board Just Mary
A good weekend 29th/30th June aboard 'Just Mary' from Poole on a reef to the east of Poole Bay. Surprisingly we were on our own with the whole reef to ourselves. Black Bream in prime condition with big blue male fish and females still with roe, just like early May fish but in late June ! Good numbers and good size fish to my experienced local lads and some decent quality fish to my hire rod group and youngsters from a local Youthclub, with some catching their first ever sea fish, like the man from Fladen says, 'Anyone can Fish !' Well on 'Just Mary' we can prove that to be true ! I hope these prime condition fish continue well into July, it's nice to get out for two days without the threat of Gale force winds, and find that the Bream are still here in quality and quantity. All the best, Malc.

Report on-board High Flyer 2
Flat calm start today which i havent seen for months! Pleasure to be out with a glassy top to the sea. Headed out to a six mile mark i havent been able to get to lately. was rewarded with a lovely 8lb smoothy first off by yours truly, then couple more for Paul, few doggies as well. Moved slightly south near a wreck as tide eased, unfortunately the wind was picking right up, ended up with a 5lb roker, few more dogs. Had to move as the boat started mis behaving so forced back inshore as has been the situation for months now getting absoulotely ridiculous this weather pattern. Couldnt even hold anchor as the wind was stronger than the tide with the anchor out the stern on a flood! early day for us today thanks to Paul, John and Shannon , sorry about the wait for those who didnt show but least we had a reasonable day. All the best. Jon.

Report on-board My Way 2
The month ahead - July
View Boats Page
As we enter July, we tend to say goodbye to the large influx of smoothhounds around Holyhead and Trearddur Bay. They can still be caught, but not so much as a targeted fishery, with average sizes now at only 8lb. July often signifies the start of some great and varied fishing around the bays, with many trips giving up to 20 different species of fish in any one day.
Many trips start drifting around the coast for a selection of different species that include Pollack, Cod, Mackerel and 5 different types of wrasse. IInshore drifting for such hard fighting species can be great fun, especially when using light gear. Fishing waters of around 45ft using spinning rods and similar you feel every bite and dive from your fish. For those not having such rods and reels and wanting to 'test the water' fear not, we have a selection of superb rods from Yuki & also Hart from Tronixpro available free to use. Coupled with some excellent multiplier or FS reels your enjoyment is almost guaranteed.
At anchor the bigger targets inshore include Bull Huss, rays, strap Conger, smoothies and the odd Tope ... with sizes varying for all from the very small to those well into double figures. Double figure Bull Huss for example are regularly seen from some of our favoured marks. Thornback rays are also present along with the odd Blonde ray and Spotted ray.
If weather allows we'll travel to the famed Holyhead Deep we will almost certainly be targeting bigger Pollack, Spurdog, Tope, Bull Huss and Conger. Drifting around the wrecks we have the potential for some great Pollack, few of which go well into double figures.
At anchor we tend toi think big -- tope, spurdogs huss and eels. A great draw for many anglers, it is always recommended that everyone tackles up on the big side, and goes all out to land specimen sharks. There are other species to be had, Whiting, Dogfish and Gurnard the most prolific, but these are also achievable inshore, no point in missing out when in the deeps. As with most fishing trips travelling offshore we need a few elements to fall in our favour, neap tides and calm weather the most important.
Competition Time
We have teamed up with the guys at Tronixpro and World Sea Fishing to bring you a great competition. Starting late July, everyone fishing aboard My Way in coming months is in with a chance to win a superb light boat Rod & Reel combo! There will be one available each month for July, August, September and October.
Look out for more details, available soon on our website and via our Facebook page.

Report on-board Spot On!
The last weekend of June and first day into July has produced some nice fish both on the skerries banks for plaice and the channel wrecks for Cod, Pollock and ling.
View Boats Page
Plaice seem to be getting fatter with the average fish now hitting around 1lb 8oz - 2lb mark, some nice 3lb specimens also landed and still good totals with 70 fish landed on the boat the day we were there.
Wrecking has been producing some fine specimens of Cod and even bigger ones getting away.
The last three days fishing both on the skerries and the wrecking has produced 13 species which include:
Cod, Pollock, Ling, Haddock, Whiting, Pouting, John Dory, Mackerel, Plaice, Dogfish, Red gurnard. Tub gurnard and Dabs.
Mackerel have arrived so the bass should be showing soon.
Pictured is Craig Williams with his nice 'Lean' 26lb 5oz Cod Caught on a sidewinder lure.
